Good restaurants in LA, SF, or Vegas?

Hey everyone, I'd like to start out a restaurant section (on the left hand side) with some links to good eats. What are some of your favorite restaurants you'd like to share with others?

This place has got all of LA (and some of OC) swooning. I just simply had to have it.

The Bone Marrow & Oxtail Jam, luxe, velvety, was out of this monde. Escargot was parfait, not too salty, not too rich, the way it should be. Steak Tartare was forgettable. Coq au Vin was delightfully flavorful, with the depth of a good Beef Wellington. Bouillabaisse was okay, not as soupy as expected. But then again I'm not much of a bouillabaisse expert.

Comme Ca was more than comme ci comme ca, it was marveilleux.

too many to pick just one!

in LA - if i feel like being fancy pants - nobu. if its low key - wakasan in westwood is a humble, hole in the wall with some unique dishes. from firefly squid to lotus flower suspended in egg custard. but the menu changes seasonally. $35 for their omakase menu ("chef's choice") is their tasting menu of 10 or so small dishes. a must try in LA

favorite LA bar...R Bar. pirate bar with a password to get in, hot bartenders that serve stiff drinks in ktown that isn't a korean bar. yes.awesome.

ohhh i have comme ca on the list to try!

OHHH!!! A good sushi place in Westwood? This is definitely a must try, maybe this weekend? I'll keep you posted...

sAm, its more of a japanese tapas place. some of the dishes are fried, cooked, baked but all most all the dishes are seafood, not much sushi. still, a must try.

My two favorite places at the moment are Creme de la Crepe in Hermosa Beach and Chart House in Redondo Beach. Creme de la Crepe has amazing crepes as well as french inspired sandwiches. Nice little restaurant that is about 3 blocks away from the ocean. Highly recommended if you like crepes, baguette sandwiches, and/or wanting to storm the Bastille without the Bastille. Or storming.

Chart House was an accidental find a couple of months ago when the fiancee and I were looking at wedding guides online for reception venues. We fell in love with the view of the ocean from the place and decided to check it out. When we told the waiter that we were looking into booking the place for our wedding, he went above and beyond his duty to make sure we got a taste of pretty much everything that evening. I can't believe that I've finally found a place where NOTHING on the menu was to my disliking. You have to try their clam chowder, the shrimp cocktail, the prime rib, the lobster bisque, the pastas... Ok, I just got a food boner.

Needless to say, we fell in love with the food, the venue, and the view. Enough to book the place for our wedding.

1. Orris in LA -- tapas style Japanese Fusion dishes. Favorites include: Albacore Lettuce Cups with greens and jalapeno aioli and ravioli with Shrimp Mousse and shiitake mushroom sauce; oh and if they ever every have the mussle special make sure you order two servings because you'll never want to stop eating this dish or the ravioli for that matter!

2. PPQ Dungeness Island Vietnamese Cuisine in SF -- peppercorn crab, roasted crab, drunken crab, curry crab, and spicy crab --- Need I say more?? Messy but oh so worth it and they give you a bib so that you don't mess up your purrrrrty clothes. And don't forget the garlic noodles!

3. KATSU-YA Studio City -- So apparently this is a chain, but we drove 45min to go eat here instead of the Brentwood or Hollywood location because it's supposedly the best one. All I can say is the hamachi is among the best I've tasted and they have a ton of sushi specials that should definitely not be overlooked like foie gras (if you are into duck liver). We ran into Borat the night we went. Supposedly, a lot of famous stars eat there or take the sushi to go ... if you are into star gazing that is.

There is a FREAKING great Thai restaurant around the corner from the St Regis in SF...GREAT boat noodle!!!!! GREAT....I was there 3 days i ate there twice.

gary danko, emma's for breakfast, bi-rite ice cream, tartine for croissants, blue bottle for coffee, and all time favorite chicken at Zuni cafe.

Man oh man, I LOVE Gil Mok, their dong chee mee gook soo is THE BOMB. Do you ever go to the one in Cerritos?
