I liked how McCain kept a positive tone, didn't mock the other guy. The speech was a little long, but by far the best part was his recounting his experience as a P.O.W. during the war. Very moving.
YaaaaaWWWWWWnnnnnnnnnnNNNN... eh... it was was like eating dry saltless crackers with nothing to wash them down with. I just have this really bad feeling about him... and my intuition about people is usually dead on.
Very eloquently put, however you must remember that you're talking about people that have been fooled pretty easily by George Bush and his "Fear Politics" for 8 years now. All those things we hear about all Americans being dumb and pretentious, may not be totally accurate but Bush and the media has done a great job of making us look that way.
You have to also consider that there are "vast" areas of this country where large populations of people have terrible education and have likely never left their state. Those people are easily impressionable, usually ignorant, and normally missing teeth.
