Alternative Renaissance Art
Hi All,
I need ideas for transposing and modernising a piece of renaissance (or alternatively well known) art.
I have ideas such as:
"The Scream", but using a female Goth instead of the Munch character..?
"Starry Night", but using NYC style skyskrapers instead of Van Goghs little village..?
"The Last Supper", but using caricatures, laptops and junk food as additions/substitutes..?
"Self Portrait" by Judith Leyster, but changing the canvas to a whiteboard with post-it notes etc..?
Do you have other ideas/inspiration - or have you already done something similar I can look at for my own inspiration..? The piece I am going to complete is not for commercial gain, it is part of an art/design course.

I think the Last Supper has been done too much. I think something more subdued is better.
Only one small change and it is a completely different painting. Or how about this:
It plays on the fact that most art of that period was commissioned and artists were sponsored. How is that different from a corporation sponsoring art today that features their product?

These are all excellent - thanks to one and all for the feedback so far.! I totally agree about the subtlety of minor changes, and the bubble gum on Mona is pure genius - sadly, she is already taken by a rival..!

Why is everyone sitting on the same side of the table in the last supper? That makes no sense.
