Brooch on the head - fashion forward or a fashion faux pas?

Tell me, dear friends, do you think a vintage brooch on the head is fashion forward or a fashion faux pas?
It's new from ban.do.

I only have one question... How is that beast staying in her hair? It has to weigh a ton!

(and esp if it were in the back as an accent it's totally fashion forward... but the weight, my god have you ever held a vintage brooch?)
good question and one that i asked myself, as well. it must be light?
I think it's purty.
new here!

i luv it. but i like the look better when they're attached to headbands, a la http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing?.out=jpg&size=l&tid=1...
That seem to be the in thing nowadays. (Welcome to the Met! :))
I LIKE it. :D But I agree with Kristine, can be pretty heavy. But I just love anything vintage. Fashion forward!
i guess it looks good if you have a vintage-shaped head
Ha, "vintage shaped head"! I love girls with vintage heads!!
I LOVE it. I get most of my jewelry at thrift stores and antique shops and can absolutely see me wearing some of the great brooches I find like this. After experimenting around with a few vintage brooches that I have, bobby pins and hair combs seem to be the answer to keeping them in place, at least for some of them.
Now that you mention it, it seems like a soldering it to a metal hair comb or a clip would be the best long term solution, if you know anyone who is handy like that.
Its a gorgeous look. I like it better than the feather - hat combo.
I love this look its definately a fashion forward. I especially love brooches you buy that can be for the hair or to wear as a brooch as they have pins and hair clasps. Genius! And with mad curly hair they dont look OTT ...purdy!
