Celebrites with self-deprecating humor - do we like it?

For some reason, when celebrities start making fun of themselves, I start to like them. Ok maybe not Paris Hilton but perhaps Lindsay Lohan.

When celebrities mock themselves do you start liking them again? And if so..why is that?

Kind of like most celebrities whining about fame. I don't feel sorry for her in the least. And for the record, I never liked her.
