I could see how people would want to do it for really special occasions, like weddings. Personally, I could think of a few better ways to spend $12,000, but if I was filthy rich, it wouldn't be as big of a deal.

A nice sturdy building with a great view will work for me.
I'd rather not spend that much money to be scared to death.

I don't think it's scary... but I do think it's incredibly stupid. If I had 12,000 to blow it would not be on something like that.
