Former Republican President George W. Bush has landed a new gig as a high-priced motivational speaker.
The 43rd President and his wife, Laura, have signed on to the popular "Get Motivated" seminar program. Bush will headline his first event this Monday in Forth Worth, Tex., then follow it up with an appearance in San Antonio in December.
The seminars tend to draw mostly salespeople looking to up their game. What they get is a mix of how-to business and motivational tips, often framed in Christian, patriotic themes of the kind Bush often invoked as President.
My question to you: Do you think George W. Bush will be a good motivational speaker?

At first I thought this was a joke. Usually in order to be a good motivational speaker, you need to first be a good speaker. I'd love to hear a speech from a man who conveniently makes up words. It'd be like stand up comedy!
"There's no question about it. Wall Street got drunk -- that's one of the reasons I asked you to turn off the TV cameras -- it got drunk and now it's got a hangover. The question is how long will it sober up and not try to do all these fancy financial instruments." --George W. Bush, speaking at a private fundraiser, Houston, Texas, July 18, 2008" George Bush.
cult of personality. If he spit in a can & sold it for $1. he might make $100M.
We all know he can't even talk to himself, but unfortunately all he'd have to do is raise a fist or a shotgun in the air and that might motivate some people.
Well, I've heard about W. that in person, he comes across as well-spoken and passionate, some corporate-type friends I have, who are very anti-Bush met him and though they still were not Bush supporters, found they hated him much less, and had increased respect for him and his plans. That being said, the man has no charisma, and is a poor public speaker, at least on television. It depends on how he'll play to the crowd, but personally, I would assume he will not be a good motivational speaker. Although- a final thought, if he's speaking to loyal Bush fans, it might be like getting a pep talk from your favorite celebrity, however, if he comes to speak in NY, it'll be like getting a pre-game pep talk from the coach of the opposing team, namely, annoying.
Of course he would. He is a one time alcoholic with limited intelligence who became the most powerful man in the world. With a tiny bit of help from his rich and powerful mommy and daddy and a little stolen election. I'm feeling inspired just typing this!
