Do you think this Sesame Street joke about Fox News is funny?

In this Sesame Street spoof one viewer becomes disillusioned at GNN (Grouch News Network) and decides to switch to Pox News "One trashy Network". I could see Oscar with a show on Fox, maybe right before Hannity?

is this real? I thought Sesame Street was a pbs show and pbs gets a good portion of its funding from the Federal gov't and therefore mandated to be politically neutral.

If it is real then its pretty stupid of Sesame Street because it opens the door for "indoctrination" criticism (obama visited a skool??? INDOCTRINATION!! HEAD FOR DEM HILLS!) and opens the entire channel up to attack from the right.

I think it's cute, wouldn't really call it funny. It's about like the Mad Men spoof they did. Jerry Falwell isn't around anymore, so odds are this won't turn into a big deal. If the right does get up and arms over this they should really be more worried about Front line, NOW, and Bill Moyers Journal.

Maybe if the Sesame Street Characters hosted SNL they could put this scetch in, but I don' t think that it's right for a kids show (for one thing, kids wouldn't get it), I think it's funny, but Sesame street isn't the forum for this type of thing.

As someone who has watched this show many times with my kids I can tell you that the writers do include jokes that only the parents will get. It's the same thing that Disney does. This makes the show less torturous to watch for adults than something like Dora the Explorer.

No...
sesame street will never be "too" any thing for me, except too much of a kids show... there are important issues that could be brought to the attention of the public....
