I went Zip-lining accross a huge valley in Whistler.... quite frightening. Not exactly an extreme sport because it's really safe... but you are suspended a few hundred feet above a river by only a wire... so it is an incredible rush.
i really have problem when companies use the word "extreme" to define or articulate a type of (sporting/lifestyle) activity that isn't your mainstream/stick-n-ball stuff. why are most board-sports or individual activities like snowboarding, skateboarding or even BMX considered "extreme"? for kids growing up in areas, let say SoCal, it's part of growing up and having fun. i hope parents don't prevent their kids from participating in these sports based on the word "extreme" associated w/these activities?
but hey, that's neither here nor there. for me, i like the extreme couch surfing ;)
I thought that extreme sports was limited to sports that you could die doing... like base jumping or hand gliding or bungee jumping etc... i don't consider snowboarding extreme unless it involves jumping out of a helicopter and snowboarding down steep cliffs in an avalanche zone...
