Say your friends/loved ones are out of town, and/or you've got nothing better to do. Besides keeping yourself busy, you feel empty on the inside. How do you drive out loneliness?

I live alone but communicate all the time. I am guest blogging now and so hear feedback on that. I help students, today I heard from two in China. One of them is in the finals of a competition and has to make a speech tomorrow. I wrote the original speech and she got into the finals; but this one is impromptu and so I helped her to prepare. I think the subject will be probably be her future and obviously not knowing is making her nervous. I have started writing a new novel and it's a psychological thriller about abduction and abuse and I enjoy it so I don't really feel alone. I have my imaginary friends! It was better writing comedy but this is more of a challenge and will I will probably find a publisher easier. i may even serialise this one in a blog. I asked a friend who is a published writer to read the first three chapters and she said it was "Raunchy, raunchy, raunchy - please keep writing it," it is a bit raunchy but they say sex sells!

Being alone a lot does mean I listen to people when I do see them and communicate effectively. I have never really talked to my brothers and sister about my writing but they are more interested now and even help. It could be because my novel is being considered by a major publisher. I worked out that in the past three months have written 90,000 words just guest blogging and then I have wrote 5 chapters of my novel and a chapter of the one I am co-writing. I have also made some videos and worked on two websites. The launch of Jake West: The Keeper of the Stones has kept me busy. I have a mention in the acknowledgements and a signed first edition though!

I've also become interested in Chinese cooking and people are hoping I will donate recipes to a new website and photographs of course! I suppose I keep busy and I don't spend much money doing so. It is very economical to take photographs with a digital camera and upload them to Windows Live and Facebook. Cooking actually saves money and listening to music is very cheap. I even get free music by downloading video from Youtube and separating the MP3 off! Art is free too if you are interested in Digital Art. I spent a little on a new laptop in the summer but it isn't expensive when I consider it will last a few years. Even my car is economical, the garage say it will last for years because it's in such good condition. I just need to spend a little on maintenance in the New Year.

You can be alone, but not lonely.
Music or riding my motorcycle.
