Is Carla Bruni-Sarkozy right to criticize the Pope?

France's First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy said: "I was born Catholic, I was baptised, but in my life I feel profoundly secular. I find that the controversy coming from the Pope's message – albeit distorted by the media – is very damaging."

"In Africa it's often Church people who look after sick people. It's astonishing to see the difference between the theory and the reality. I think the Church should evolve on this issue. It presents the condom as a contraceptive which, incidentally, it forbids, although it is the only existing protection," she told Femme Actuelle, the women's magazine.

My question to you: Carla Bruni-Sarkozy definitely put herself in the spotlight with her latest criticism of the pope and the Catholic Church. Do you agree with her?

absolutely.. the previous pope was incredible.. everyone loved him.. even if they were not Catholic. I don't this this new guy has the same quality about him as PJP. Plus just because he is a pope doesn't make him god or jesus.. I think people need to understand that it is considered wrong to lift a man to god-like status. I think you should be allowed to say whats on your mind no matter who they are.. he's just a man after all.. A man that wears Prada slippers.
Everybody has the freedom of expression.Carla Bruni seems clever to me but she didn't understand that the Pope agrees on the fact that condoms is a contraceptive and also helps to stop Aids but in religion (all of them)you are not allowed to spread yourself in different sexual life.It is a question of attitude and responsibility.
Carla Bruni feeling um, "profoundly secular."

I agree with her. I have major issues with the Catholic church, and this is for sure one of them.
