For many of us, the TV was like a good friend in our younger years. Now that we're older, I wonder what type of impact you think that had in your life.
My question to you: Is watching lots of television bad for young minds?
It is a passive medium, the equivalent of being fed through a tube. Please for the love of all that is good, get your minds out of the passive-receiving mode and into interactive-creating. It will do you and everyone else around you a world of good.
^5 to Mark... it is terrible for the mind, for the most part. I've watched some pretty interesting historical shows/documentaries, but I probably would have retained it much more had I READ it instead of watched it.
There are so many other forms of art that have been thrown by the wayside as technology's creeping vines of lethargy have taken over the planet.
Get outside! Run, dance, play, laugh, listen, read, talk, create, draw, sing, form, fight, love, love love.
Yes - springing from the fact that too much of anything is not good for us.
Although, if done in moderation and with the right kind of programming, there can be a way to reap some benefits too.
And it should definitely be second choice to any kind of first hand learning or on-the-job activity.
