My Modern Metropolis
With the Razzie award nominations out, I got to thinking...what are some of the worst movies we've ever watched? You know, the ones where at the end you actually wanted your 2+ hours of your life back?

Here's my list:
Striptease (yes, I watched this)
Men Who Stare at Goats (great cast, bad story)
The Road (long and drawn out)
The Day the Earth Stood Still (should of known, it starred Keanu)

Which movies are on your list?

I agree with Kevin about the Matrix seqels. The first was such a complete movie, it should always have stood alone.

However, nothing could equal the shattering disillusionment brought on by the drossfest which was 'The Phantom Menace'!

I'll hardly ever stop watching a film once I've started, and I've always been a big David Lynch fan - Mulholland Drive is awesome in so many ways - but I simply could not finish 'Inland Empire'. Completely incomprehensible from start to... well, whenever I switched off. Did anyone else stay to the bitter end?
Hollywoodland.

I was shocked. You expect the story to go somewhere and then you realize you just wasted more than two hours for absolutely nothing. On that same note, I really didn't like Where The Wild Things Are. I remember the story when I was a kid and I guess some things better remain stories, it just didn't work for me as a movie...

Oh and surprised no one mentioned Manos, Hand of Fate : D
How about this: most movies starring Vin Diesel !!

The Fast and the Furious (all of them)
Babylon AD
xXx

Pitch Black and the Chronicles of Riddick were pretty good but the rest were worthless.
He's fun to look at sometimes though. :D
xXx was such a waste of time. Also, Snakes on a PLANE!
Yeah Avatar sucked! Typical James Cameron overblown crap, Titanic anyone? A lot of special effects does not make a good movie. District 9 was a Sci Fi movie with a message that was way better.
Here one where a good movie ended up wasting my time: Inglorious Basterds

I liked this movie, some parts were terrific, but it suffered from a serious lack of editing. The movie would have been MUCH better with about 30 - 40 minutes edited out. There were many, many scenes that only contributed minor points to the story but spent way too long on the screen. At 2 1/2 hours I was sick of Tarentino's style by the time it was over.
nicely put!
Mark between Watchmen and Basterds I'm begging to guess you don't like long movies.
This one goes a back a bit...
Mel Brooks - Men in Tights.
What? That movie was awesome.
Spiderman 3
Transformers 2
Matrix 2 & 3
new Star Wars
Indiana Jones 4
Hulk (2003)

...mostly disappointing big budget sci-fi and super hero movies. Incidentally I loved Watchmen both the graphic novel and the movie.
