Which bands or artists inspire you? Is there one specific CD you listen to on repeat when you are inspired? Over all, I'm just curious to see how music fits into art in your life.

Hot Chip and Metric are great bands to listen to! :) I usually listen to them when I'm working on homework.
Nirvana for me. So much of my inspiration comes from them. Of coarse any music from the 90s puts me in the mood to do something. Indie and alternative helps also.
for industrial creations: NIN, Ministry, Filter, Front 242, Young Gods, Depeche Mode...
for romantic creations: Blue Nile, Opposition, Peter Murphy, Yes, Ultravox, Icehouse, Boards Of Canada....
for surrealistic and science fiction creations: Yello, Tangerine Dream, UK, Brian Eno, Vangelis, Rush, MManson...
for impression: smooth jazz...

mainly music from 80's and 90's :)
Bon Iver- For emma, forever ago
Helios-Eingya
Album leaf-Into the Blue again
S. Carey-All we grow

These four albums play the most in my house.
I like Van gogh and Picasso. I am a young artist and photographer from China. :)
Another good station is Live365.com. While working I tend to listen to music that doesn't have much vocals to it since I find it distracting at times. I prefer ambient and electronica while working. It's all about what I'm doing and how I'm feeling, based on that I'll listen to something that compliments it.
Being a university student i love listening to music whilst doing my art...i reckon a bit of incubus, Minus The Bear, Jack Johnson, Adele (to bring out the emotional side haha) AND Obadiah Parker's acoustic version of Hey Ya is awesome. BUT for sure The Beatles and a bit of the Beach Boys definitley influence me whilst working :)
I keep reading about all these artists I've never heard of. Though I'd like to find particular artists in particular genres. I usually listen to online stations that play songs from a variety of bands and artists. So I'm having a hard time finding good music for my ipod since I don't know of any bands out there.
But I must admit music does indeed play an integral part of what we do on a daily basis. Whether it's studying, working, working out or driving. It's amazing the emotions it can stir up!
I agree with the last part. Music makes the world go round, along with money and love and all that good stuff haha
Ahhh, GREAT choices :)
I'm more into music, but I'm looking at using that to get more into art. One musician who inspires me is Dan Deacon, his stuff's about as visual as music can be.
Inspiring music for me is hard to find. I like a lot of different music but many artist are selling what sells, sex. Donald Glover is a guy who has accomplished soo much and is still only..27 i believe. He writes for tv shows, acts, models, and makes music. The best part is, he gives his music away for free. Which shows that he is doing it goes he loves to do it. His artist name is Childish Gambino. Its a rap/hip hop genre.
