Good topic for this website, BTW Alice I'd love to see a design section in the forum and a Deco/Furniture one.
So my question is: Do you have some great place to find modern furniture in LA / OC area ?? It's actually what brought me to this website !!!! ;-)
I know Blueprint in LA and I love it. But their selection is limited as always in these specialized stores. I like Plummers in Irvine, Room and Boards in South Coast.
Any gems you'd like to share ??
Alice I think you mentioned a store somewhere in Santa Monica when you moved, do you remember what it was ?
Thx for your comments

I also like Plummers. There's a lot of good stuff at the Helm's Bakery District in Culver City. Not too sure about the affordability factor though. My brother has picked up some really nice stuff there. It's also a nice place to hang out and get a good meal after a day full of shopping.
Seems like Boomusa has some pretty cool stuff. They're also @ helms.
Hey there Dave! I like the idea of a design topic in the forum section. I've called it Art+Design. Furniture - we don't have a lot of threads on that topic but we do have Fashion+Shopping, where it can be lumped under.
Now to your question.
Modern Furniture - I like WeeGo Home in Santa Monica, Grace Home Furnishings in Brentwood, and Design Within Reach in Santa Monica - though all are a little pricey. Then again, I've always seen furniture as a good investment, something you'll keep for a long time.
Then there's Plush Pod in Weho and West Elm in Santa Monica, both good too. West Elm is a hipper Pottery Barn. (In fact, they are owned by William Sonoma, which owns Pottery Barn, too.)

Thanks for the links, Alice. I'm moving to DTLA in a week. The new place is nicer, but smaller than where I'm at now. My ginormous couches will no longer fit. Bummer. But, I get to go shop for new stuff.
Btw: know anyone that's looking to move? I have a 2 week overlap in rent that'll be abated if I can find someone to move in. Thanks.

I'd have loved to snag up one of those lofts. BUT, they're still pretty expensive. I'm moving into the Visconti. It's closer to work, closer to court, and the view was just killer.
I've been eyeing Church & State myself. I move in on Saturday, so let's go hit it up soon.
