A man in Sacramento has begun a grassroots campaign to outlaw divorce in California. He’s trying to get the “2010 California Marriage Protection Act” up for a statewide vote sometime next year.
The man behind it — John Marcotte — has pulled off a number of harmless social pranks before. But this time, he’s not saying if the proposal is real.
My question to you: What do you think? Should marriage be until “death do us part?”
It's not based on reality!!!
I think it would be nice if people took marriage more seriously, and at least took the chance to try to make it work!
But if it doesn't work it's better to be apart and happy, than miserable together!
And whether you are married or not is irrelevant, you don't have to live together, if you don't want to!!!
There are a lot of people out there that don't want to make the same mistake again, so why bother to get divorced!!!
But no, you can't ban it!
People should always have a choice to do as they wish!!!
Of course it shouldn't be banned, there are perfectly valid reasons for not staying married and it's not for any government body to say a couple should be forced to remain together if they decide it's best to separate. Stupid stunt, this guy's just trolling for headlines.

So, this guy is serious? Really? Hell, mariage is just a commitment that two people get willingly, so if they don't want to keep on with it, no law should have any influence on it. For me marriage is just a signed paper, as valid as my words to my girlfriend, and I trust more the latter.

shouldn't be banned... but it should be a lot harder to get a divorce... or annulment. I don't get how those are legal... Isn't that just a Catholic loophole for divorce?
