Should we get rid of the News Feed?

Hey Gang -

As you may know, Eugene and I are always looking to make this site less cluttered and more user-friendly.
That being said, we've been thinking about getting rid of the News Feed area (on the homepage, left side under Welcome).

What are your thoughts? Do you guys look at that to keep track of what's going on or should we get rid of it?

I kind of like it but it isn't really super necessary. Things move so fast on the site now that messages get pushed off the bottom pretty fast.

Thanks for the quick feedback, Mark. I actually thought you'd want the News Feed so it surprises me that you don't think it's necessary. Since Eugene and I are on all the time, I wonder if it's more for us than anything. If so, we'll consider taking it off.

I feel the same way too. Sometimes it's nice to see what blog post or video's been featured, but to have a notification for every comment received is a little much.
