My Modern Metropolis
On the Met we have people who contribute from all over the world and while it may not be true for everywhere, it's spring here in the U.S.. I happen to be reminded of this every time I look out my window because there are a bunch of cherry trees in my front yard which have just bloomed. When the wind blows it almost looks like it's snowing.

Since it's a rather picturesque time of year I figure why not share some of your spring photos? For all you guys and gals outside the U.S. where it may not be spring feel free to share some from springs past.

This is of one of those Cherry Trees I mentioned before. Here in Macon, GA. we have the largest population of Cherry Trees in the U.S with over 300,000!!! Sorry D.C. ;P

Beautiful! I am very fond of cherry trees.

Bring it on, spring!!!
Cerisiers à fleurs, we have a few in Mâcon, France too
Mâcon, France is one of our sister cities. I would be surprised if the trees in Mâcon, France have close ancestors with those here in Macon, GA..
In fact, it's not precisely in Mâcon, where there could be but a bit further east in my parents garden. Those trees originaly come from japan no?they don't give fruits, only flowers.
Yep, they all came from Japan. A local businessman became obsessed with them around the 50's here in Macon and made it is mission to plant them everywhere. 30 years later they started the International Cherry Blossom Festival to celebrate the blossoming of 300,000+ Yoshino Cherry Trees. They also give out saplings every year so the numbers just keep growing which is how the 4 in my front yard got there. I wonder what the story is behind their French cousins.
Wow, that's a beautiful shot! Beautiful beautiful flower!!! O_O Imma try to snap some pics to post here. :)
Goodbye Winter! It was nice knowing you, but SO LONG! Don't let the door hit you in the rear on the way out! Hello Spring!
