Valentine's day plans? To enjoy the company of my lovely wife eating in and cooking dinner just the two of us. Lobsters, crab and steak. It's a tradition. Already looking forward to it!

i dont like the idea of how valentines day is supposed to be an all out day of love. i think the sporadic days where you do it just because you want to is so much better

It's pretty much like any other artificial event promoted for commercial gain.

I have to agree with Matthew Palma on this one. The spontaneous expressions are the best and expensive, fattening candy isn't appropriate.

Valentines Day to the unattached single is like Christmas to the financially challenged!

Most holidays can be tricky to navigate and stressful for less-than perfect families and unattached singles. But Valentines Day, (dedicated to the glorification of romantic love and passion) is probably the worst for unattached singles. Particularly those who have recently been in a marriage or relationship that has ended badly.

I see where you're going with this. Just think of it from the other side: those who are recently engaged, married, etc. It holds quite a bit of importance. I suppose it's all about where you lie in the love life.
