I love buying books and magazines...some would call it an addiction.
I have piles and piles of books lying all around the house - they give me this weird sense of comfort.
I think I'm also addicted to coffee - I didn't have a cup Saturday morning and then had this crazy headache that afternoon....
What are you addicted to?
Chocolate? Coffee? Someone's touch?
Friends (the tv series). I have all the seasons and I watch them over and over.. I never get sick of them (but my roommate does.. whoops.)
Ice cream. I'm lactose intolerant but I'd gladly deal with the stomach cramps if I could eat ice cream for every meal. Especially mint chip (I usually like the green kind more than the white kind.. but the Haagen Das kind is my favorite.) Coming in close second is vanilla soft serve with Heath bar pieces on top.
Cookbooks! Out of the, oh, I don't know, 30 or so that I have, I've actually made recipes from maybe 8 of them. I just like curling up on the couch and flipping through them. :)
Coffee, internet, music, magazines... Hey, I'd be the happiest man on earth if I was stranded in a Barnes and Noble store with Starbucks inside !! (and internet and my Macbook to post my impressions of course !! )
Music, magazines, and cookbooks yep yep, eating (emphasis on chicken, steak and fried), shopping, watching TV (don't get me started on WHAT), sleeping, stripes, Karaoke, coffee and tea, traveling ...
We use the same word (addicted) to mean physically dependent on drugs and to playfully speak of things we don't wish to live without. The former had a very negative connotation while the second subtly hints that we might actually become dependent on these things. Coffee is a perfect example. It isn't an illegal substance (thank God) and causes only marginal physical dependency but it becomes such a part of some people's lives (mine included) that to do without it is practically unthinkable.
