When you think about people who listen to electronic music, whether it be house, trance, breaks or electro. What do you think about them?

I automatically connect with them. Just like any other form of music, once you find out that someone likes your type of music it brings you closer.
Whenever I travel abroad, electronic music is the norm in most club and lounge settings. It's definitely more popular than any other form of music in a nightlife setting.

I spent a great chunk of my late teens and early 20's buzzing around the "rave" scene (as it was called then..) And I can honestly say those years made me the person I am today. I experienced more in that chunk of time than I ever have since then. I learned to scratch some vinyl, to dance til I could barely breathe, and to avoid the "puddles" of kids on the floors. I will forever relate to them, because I understand the closeness, the suffocating solitude that can be found in a room full of pounding bass and thumping beats. It's an experience like no other, and people don't really understand the electronic music scene. It's portrayed as this dark dungeon style experience where everyone is on drugs, and depravity is abundant. It's just not so. Sure, there is a little bit of that there, but no moreso than at any other club. (This was a long answer to a short question, sorry :p )

that's an awesome answer!!!

But what do you people out there think that haven't been apart of the scene or even listen to the music. What are some of the assumptions or judgements you pass on this genre?

Some of the artists tend to get monotonous with their tracks and that really kind of takes some away from this otherwise peppy genre.

This music is so deep that they seem to me to enjoy being out of self control
