Disgusted. To think that the people in charge of a monument such as the Louvre would sell their artistic souls so easily offends me greatly. McDonalds belongs in strip malls and on the side of the freeway. McDonalds is anti-culture, there are plenty of places in Paris already being defaced by the 'golden arches', surely this was not necessary. This is a sad news day for those of us with any sense of the magic, wonderment and joy a museum such as the Louvre brings to people. This sounds so cheap, so tacky, so denigrating.
That's a good question. I'm feeling kinda mixed about it. On one hand, it's nice that visitors are offered a low-cost option that many people know and love. On the other hand, it cheapens museum.
It doesn't really bother me although , it is actually quite degrading on the Louvres part.
A fast food joint in a historic art museum...
Like James Lynch said it doesn't belong in a museum, it deserves to be at the mall or drive through where you stop off for a quick bite to eat.
I'm sure much of the tourists would rather something more cultural rather than Mc.Donalds, fair enough you know the positive factor about it is that its low costing and obviously some people love it .. but then again.. why pay to go to the Louvre to go eat there, i mean i'm sure a lot of us are fed up of seeing the same old golden arch, i'm sure the next one isn't more than a couple of meters away from the Louvre infact.
oh well.. good for Mc.Donald's business i guess now.
It's been a bad week for foodies. Gourmet magazine shuts down and MacDonalds' opens at the Louvre. Am I the only one who believes this is so wrong. I mean, when I think of Paris, I think of great French food (not as good as Lyon, but..).
oh, globalization... well, it saddens me, i feel like the Louvre is too good for McDonalds... but is it? apparently not... i dont know i suppose i expect high standards. there should be conveniently priced food, but... it just makes me sad.
