Whether it was in your own town, or you saw it on your travels, what is the most amazing landmark you've ever seen? What was your experience like when you saw it?
A few years ago we were on a canoe trip in the Canadian wilderness. We stopped on this small island to camp. It is in the middle of a large lake more than 100 miles from the nearest city. On that island we found a brass survey marker hammered into the stone with the coordinates, date, and the surveyors initials on it. It was so amazing because it was so unexpected.
I'd have to talk about Canada as well. Moraine Lake always makes me lose words to describe it. Once you hit the top, it's like you're somewhere else. The silence, the breeze. I will never forget it.
