relax, count to 10, imagine your entire life in front of you
pain is only temporary
you are only 20 years old
if you plan to get rich and famous before 30, you have 10 years
assuming you sleep half of the time (12 hours per day), thats 43800 hours
during that time you could hypothetically:

-play guitar for 3650 hours (1 hour per day for 10 years)
-exercise for 1825 hours(half an hour per day for 10 years)
-eat/cook for 1825 hours(half an hour per day for 10 years)
-draw for 2737.5 hours (45 minutes per day for 10 years
-have sex for 3650 hours (1 hour per day for 10 years)
-browse the internet like a junkie for 3650 hours (1 hour per day for 10 years)
-do school for 5475 hours (hour and a half per day for 10 years)
-write music for 3650 hours (1 hour per day for 10 years)
-skateboard/snowboard for 600 hours (6 hours per day for 100 days, or 10 times a year)
-do nothing for 7300 hours (2 hours of nothing/free time every day)
-make money/work for 9437.5 (2.58 hours per day for 10 years, or 18 hours per week (Ha, I'd be lucky!!))

I believe this is a good way to envision how much time you really have in your life. And think... I could do this all before I turn 30, hypothetically. Of course it never works that way, mainly because you usually have more than 2 hours of "nothing time" every day. No matter, I still find this a great way to envision the amount of work and/or effort you have ahead of you
Love the breakdown of time spent on each task. PERFECT!!!
I try to remember how small my problems really are in the huge expanse of the universe. Each of us is only one little person on a very small planet in an unremarkable solar system orbiting a very ordinary star out in the remote arm of a single galaxy lost among billions of other galaxies spread across trillions of miles of space. Nothing that has ever happened to any of us is so bad that it matters in that great expanse. Nothing any of us have ever dreamed is impossible in that great expanse. Any situation can be changed. Any mold can be broken. Einstein was only a patent clerk before he became the greatest scientist of the modern world. The ugly duckling can become the swan. Impossible is only a word.
What he said. ^

What also helps for me is to force myself to list everything I'm thankful for even the seemingly insignificant things. Makes me feel better.

Also, I always remember that hope never asks anything of me. It's just there. Hope gives, it doesn't take.
Every day is a new day. And if it's been a bad day, I tell myself tomorrow will be better.
With even a little hope anything is possible!!!
Give up, loser. (JK!)
LOL!
I've been struggling with some things lately, but - the less help, or hope, I get from the world at large, the more determined I become to fight through it.

However, if things become unbearable, I just have to remind myself that, in 100 years, none of this will matter. I just have to do the best that I can with where I am and what I have.
I like to put this on the stereo and no problem seems too big
You reminded me of the simple truth that there is no task, however mundane, which can't become bearable with the intro to Eye Of The Tiger playing in your head.
Disappear.
