Why are Town Hall meetings blowing up around America?

If you've seen the news lately, you've noticed that Americans have been going berserk at Town Hall meetings across the United States.

My question to you:
Why are these people so upset? What's going on here?

I also believe conservative groups are encouraging people to create a scene. As for Fox, pretty insane that people think it's a trusted news source.
And quite possibly, this a "boiling point" for people. Let's face it, things are fairly crappy for a large number of people right now. I won't spew rhetoric and cite a Depression-like state, but if you had been laid off for months, lost a large amount (or all) of your retirement savings in the stock mess and suddenly feel threatened by a real or imagined new system it's not a very long walk to end up screaming your lungs out at a town hall meeting. People are angry & the media isn't helping by stoking the fires. We'll be lucky if one of these things doesn't end in serious violence.

What ever happened to civil discourse anyway?
There are certainly a lot of people upset about the current state of nation and are at their boiling point. I wonder if conservatives believe it's the fault of this administration or the last one.
We all know how partisan politics can fuel these things. The Republicans are not innocent and neither are the Democrats. Fox is not innocent and neither is CNN. They all act in the best interests of themselves and no corporation or Party has a conscience. Only people, individually, have consciences. Groups always act in the best interest of the group - either like a corporation to make more money or a party to get their candidate elected. If a group leader tries to act in any way not in the best interest of the group they get replaced.

The difficulty comes in determining which parts of this are orchestrated by groups and which are truly individuals acting on their conscience. I think there's some of both here. I see a lot of angry, hurting people who don't need any group or corporation to get them started yelling.
well put.
My ex wife yells all the time Fox should do a story on her
If the false "Death Panel" stinks of Palin's cheap perfume it's because she wears cheap perfume & she's right there putting logs on the fire
