My Modern Metropolis

New York Times has a great set of pictures and stories about the reason why people travel.
Why do you travel? To get away, to explore, to feel alive?

There are so many reasons....to get out of your comfort zone, meet new people, experience new foods, the thrill of the unknown, reinforcing relationships (friends or family), reflect on life.
all great reasons. thanks for kicking my butt and making me travel!
I'mù sure you're gone think I'm weird but when I travel , i try to find answer to the question why : why does does water tastes different, why does a plant groes there and not somewhere esle, why do people look like how they are, does it come fro their food, their way of living, why their culture ask them to act ona way and not another etc....
I might still look for the answer of the purpose of earth.
Because experiences are more important than things. See this article. And I totally agree with sAm's reasons below.
good article. i'm with you all the way.
I don't travel because I can't afford to. But I can tell you why I want to. I want to escape from my everyday world, to leave the place where it is way too comfortable. I want to be somewhere where I don't know much but where I can learn. It's really all about learning :D
I like that line, "It's really all about learning." As they say, life is a learning experience.
I recommend _Travels With Charley In Search of America_ by John Steinbeck
i'll read it , I liked "mouses and humans" from Steinbeck
funny
Traveling, for me, is the highest form of learning. I love learning about other people's cultures, exploring their beautiful lands, and trying (or looking) at their exotic foods. I believe we can learn something from people and cultures from all over the world, stuff that can't necessarily be found in textbooks or on tv.
