A woman jumped the barriers in St. Peter's Basilica and knocked down Pope Benedict XVI as he walked down the main aisle to begin Christmas Eve Mass on Thursday. 2 Americans, Marybeth Burns and Steve Burns, captured that moment on their cameras.

What's wrong with people these days?

Propably didn't get what they asked God so they have to blame someone
Why would somebody want to sack the Pope?
1. they are mentally ill
2. they are strung out on something
3. need for attention
4. intolerance of different beliefs
...to list a few reasons
for real...
Molested by a Catholic priest.
payback time, huh?
so true, so true...
yeah it looks like shes just trying to get to him, then the security guard rushes over
I highly suspect she was merely trying " to touch the hem of his cloak' [as in the bible] in order to receive redemption.
Nothing "weird' at all.

Opinions of the catholic church on some things show such a lack of tolerance. I can imagine someone getting so frustrated by it that he/she'd want to knock him over.

It looked sorta funny, but that's about it. Actions like these make one look silly rather than as someone to be taken seriously.

Hmm....Mysterious how there is not one "tackle woman" statement to be found. I smell a conspiracy.
It's difficult to know the woman's motivation. It may have been her intention to assault the pope, for religious or personal reasons, or maybe she expected some miracle if she could only touch this religious figure.

There are some people who think that the pope is the antichrist (see Jack Chick), some people who think he is God's representative on earth.

People are weird like that.
very true...
The Vatican is historically the most powerful entity in the world and not exempt from corruption, in fact it was built on it.
