Will you avoid crowded places (like Disneyland) bc of H1N1?

Interesting article out about how people are avoiding theme parks because of their fear of catching H1N1.

New York Times:
"For many Americans, the fear of swine flu has made everyday acts like going to work, going to school or getting on a plane feel fraught with danger — even more so since President Obama recently declared swine flu a national emergency.

Now, even Mickey Mouse is being looked at with suspicion.

With their international visitors, crowded conditions and touchy-feely interaction among guests and dressed-up storybook characters, theme parks like Walt Disney World and Disneyland are being viewed as the perfect petri dishes for the H1N1 virus by some worried travelers.

Theme park officials acknowledge the fears of some people about visiting a crowded place like a theme park but say that measures they have put in place to fight the spread of the H1N1 virus meet or exceed the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

For Disney, those measures include ordering more than 200,000 individual hand sanitizers for Disney World and placing them in various locations throughout its parks, offering free seasonal flu vaccinations to employees (referred to as cast members within Disney), providing H1N1 information and flu prevention tips to workers and maintaining high sanitation standards."

My question to you: Will you avoid crowded places because you're afraid you might catch H1N1?

I will avoid them.
Not for my own safety, I just make below the poverty line and if I have to chose Mickey funland over eating this month I think I'd rather stay off the Matterhorn. As for avoiding, I'll avoid anything for the pure reason I'd rather not be around people, in reality most people have a tendency to spread their fluids and once a year flu season heightens awareness, flu kills children and elderly every year, calling it Swine flu this year sure did scare a lot of people, calling it H1N1 kinda makes it better... in a vocabulary sense, but as for actually making it less harmful, it's just the flu wash your hand and don't touch anyone....
I mean anyone! even your most trusted friend could have it. I'm hoping it's that disease that creates zombies. Those of you with the initial infection should ponder that.

I actually had H1N1 and I *think* I picked it up while we were at the Kings Island amusement park. I recommend that people be careful. I'm not saying don't go out, just watch out for anyone coughing or sneezing and GET AWAY. Also, wash your freakin hands! And don't touch your face either.

This an interesting question and one that I had not previously considered. Being that I have two school age children in the house I feel that I am more likely to get the virus from one of them bringing it home than from any other place. Also I work in a hotel that has international travelers and all the germs they bring with them. Although I am taking some precautions I feel if it's going to happen it's going to happen and drastic changes in lifestyle won't change that.

CDC has done many studies on how diseases are passed through our population. The largest vector, by far, is school age children, particularly younger ones. The children are close to one another, they touch everything, they don't wash their hands enough, and their immune systems are not as fully developed. This is one of the reasons that many times the vaccines are given to them first. It is very well proven that giving vaccines to school age children can dampen down a pandemic before it can fully flare up.

If I lived in a city with subways, I would try to avoid them as much as possible. Since I don't, I can't think of any other space I would avoid.

I do however, try to stay fit, keep my immune system as healthy as possible, and wash my hands frequently.

I won't stay away from crowded places, however I've increased the number of times I wash my hands everyday and make more of an effort to not touch my face/eyes/nose with my hands.
