Oh its gotta be the good ol 'book' anytime.
One of our senses is 'touch' and the very feel a book in your hands gives has something realistic about it. And as Kara mentioned, the smell of a new book is awesome. Also, with Kindle, its the same feel with every new book you read, as opposed to the different attributes associated with each new book.
I guess, if one is not too fussed about anything other than the content, then kindle is a very convenient option, especially where storage is concerned.
But for the likes of us, it still is books all the way... :)
Can I say both? I have the first gen Kindle (birthday gift from family) and I love it for the convenience (can download books in under a minute, don't have to go to the store - immediate satisfaction rules). I also still love to buy books - esp ones I want to keep on a bookshelf forever.
Yeah, I can't imagine reading a book on a digital screen. I too enjoy turning pages, the smell of the paper and the binding, be it glued or sewn. I never dogear the pages, but do use just about anything for a bookmark. The experience just wouldn't be the same on a screen.
I wasn't aware of them till now! Don't like the idea, you can't beat having the real thing!
It's all about having it, it's your own collection that defines you and your tastes like anything you own, to put on YOUR bookshelf,
I always mark the corners, it's my way of personalizing my books!
