Hello. [I'm new here:)]

I'm thinking of a new project, a new idea. Maybe you can help me.

Do you identify with the place you live in? Is the city you live in, the same city you were born?
What, do you think, helps to the identification with the city you live in?
Are you proud to say where you live, and where you were born?

Thanks!

Hi Danna, Your question is very similar to one of our most responded to discussions: "What is your city known for?." Hope that helps.
I love where I live, which is Taipei, Taiwan. But I cannot claim any credit for making it what it is. The Chinese people living here do that and I love it.

I was born in Detroit, MI but my family moved to California when I was three. I feel no connection to Detroit. I grew up in Beverly Hills but I don't feel much connection to that city either even though my sister is still there.

No place has everything and I love several places I've lived or frequently visited. I guess I just don't identify with places, really only with people.

I also don't identify with sports teams and I really don't understand why anyone does.

PS: Personally I think your question is entirely different from the one Eugene refers to below.
