@Sophie - Wow...you've been to some great games. Must have been great to see United score five goals. That's the one thing on my list I need to do if I ever make it over to England - to watch a Man Utd game at Old Trafford.

In the off-season, United go to Asia, while Chelsea come play the Galaxy over here in LA. I haven't gone to any Galaxy games, mostly because the quality is rubbish compared to Europe, but I may try to catch a game in the near future...

Haha yes be sure never to root for liverpool, or manchester city, they are our two most important rivals!
yes it isn't great is it? Thats why the green and gold has so much support, that is the colours of Newton Heath by the way, which is the football club that became Manchester United.
Well I'm not entirely sure when, I always liked them as a kid, so just pretty much always supported them.
I have been to a few games, not alot because tickets are expensive and quite hard to come by, but I try to go to the pre season games where they play good opposition (such as Juventus, Valencia, Inter Milan) but they drop the prices down to only £15! But apart from that, I went to the Wigan game at OT at christmas when we won 5-0, I saw the Wigan game last year as well, and I have seen a champions league game against Benfica, and an FA cup against Portsmouth, sadly thats the only ones! I guess you have not been to a game then?

@Sophie - Wow...I love learning about all this history. Whenever Liverpool play, I will make sure to root for the other club. haha.

I knew that the Glazers had a lot of debt, but didn't know that the club had zero debt before they took over. Wow! Now that you put it into perspective, I will have to support the green and gold movement as well.

So when did you become a United fan? And have you ever been to any matches? I hear tickets are really really expensive...

Well the united-liverpool rivalry is more of a historical one, and they are regional rivals so thats another thing, also the cities of liverpool and manchester for some reason have a bit of a rivalry themselves so it sort of translates to the football teams
the rivalry with chelsea is big as well, but if they stopped being good i dont think it would really exist so much, where as the liverpool rivalry will always be there
im not sure they can afford to sack benitez, he signed a new contract recently and the his pay out sum if he was sacked is pretty big!
I really dislike the Glaziers, I believe a football club should be owned by the fans, i hate how rich people keep buying up clubs as some kind of toy or thing to boast about or whatever. Specific to the Glaziers though, united had no debt and were owned by the fans when the glaziers took over, now we have something like 600million pounds worth of debt. I think its wrong. got me green and gold scarf recently, (yey), do you know about the history behind those colours?

@Sophie. I agree. The Valentia acquisition was a really good one...

I'm not surprised about the Liverpool-United rivalry but did not know how strongly people felt about it. I would have thought more people would be against Chelsea, given their strength. Liverpool seems to be way out of form lately and I wouldn't be surprised in Rafa Benitez was sacked after the season.

I have to admit, I don't know much about why people dislike the Glazers. I see many fans wearing green scarves though. What do you think about them?

Im upset mostly because I wanted to overtake Liverpools title record, I don't want to hold it with them, I'm not sure how strongly the Liverpool-United rivalry comes through over there but it is huge, and I can't wait until when we have won more titles than them. We have had a difficult season with injuries its true, but I feel we needed to do well this year to encourage players to want to come to us next season, Valencia I am very impressed with though!
Yeah I can imagine you don't meet many fans, what do you think about the Glazier ownership?

@Sophie - Yes, unfortunately both title seem to be out of grasp. I'm not upset though. We had a great run this year, Rooney had a breakout season, and it's not like we can win every year. The only person who I'm disappointed in is Berbatov, especially after spending so much money on him. We definitely need another striker next season.

So cool to meet another United fan. As you can imagine, I don't meet many soccer fans where I'm at. =)

Thats cool, im a united fan too, but when I lived in the US last year I found the time difference really irritating, and I was only on the East Coast. Im not very impressed with them lately though, you reckon we have blown the title?

Hi Sohie. I am a huge United fan. I watch all the Premier League highlights every week on Fox Soccer Channel here in the US. I also keep up with the Champions League and If they play night games, I can watch them live around 2pm local time. =)

Eugene, do you support united?!
How do you find watching the matches in the US? Because the time difference is rubbish!
