I originally started taking photos in Zuccoty park as a form of protest against the media silence and negativism. The few insignificant articles that I did see in the press always implied that the people in the movement were a bunch of unemployed illiterate freaks with no ideas who just camp out there for the lack of better things to do. In the first few days I also was irritated by the lack of clear demands, or anything solid those young people could present to the world. But I checked on them every day and they grow on me. They got better and stronger every day and I am proud of them. It takes this kind of youth, inexperience and naiveté to do what they do. They will get bruised and disappointed. They will grow up, learn, and harden up. They will get some of what they want and loose some of what they are. I take photos every day and publish them whenever I can. Even if a few people see them and realize what this movement is about - I feel that my time and energy are not wasted.
