I'm not a huge Sunset Strip fan....the parking and traffic there is always a nightmare. There must be a need to revive the area...hence the first annual Sunset Strip Music Festival...rockers may enjoy - all performances at the Roxy, Whisky A-Go-Go, House of Blues, Viper Room, Key Club and The Cat Club.
Larry King is hosting an "icon rountable" discussion, which might be interesting.

If you have never been here or haven't been since it remodeled, Griffith Observatory is definitely worth checking out. The architecture of the building is amazing and I would recommend going right before sunset, as you and your date will surely enjoy a panoramic view of LA. The main attraction is the Samuel Oschin Planetarium Show, which is an IMAX on the ceiling. Wicked, I know...the show consists of informative info regarding… Continue

Like many of you, I remember MTV when they actually showed music videos. So that's probably why I still love watching them. Music videos and concerts enhance your connection to a song. Maybe it's the way the words come alive or maybe I just love seeing their fancy foot work. :)
With a blazing economy, a radically different governemt, and so much news ranging from the earthquake to the olympics, I have had a growing curiosity about China. I recently stumbled upon this documentary, The Rising Tide, which investigates China's march toward the future through the work of some of its most talented emerging artists, whose work reflects the country's rising influence as an economic, political and cultural force in the global… Continue

I read this article in Esquire about Steve Wynn, the mastermind to some of the greatest hotels in the world including my all time favorite in Las Vegas, Bellagio, and was struck by his honesty and openness. The article is a little old but I thought getting a small inside look into his world was pretty… Continue
China's First Emperor, the boy king who united the country in 221 BC and began construction of the first Great wall, was not only obsessed with building but also a fanatic about death. To enforce his rule over the afterlife, he built a standing army of 7,000 soldiers. This terra cotta army of soldiers, servants, musicians, acrobats, and animals silently remained underground for two thousand… Continue
Developed by the same company as The Grove, Americana at Brand is a $400 million shopping complex that has upscale shops, dining and residences. Located in Glendale, the shopping complex has outdoor spaces similar to The Grove to encourage a sense of place. Dancing fountains, outdoor crystal chandeliers, a statue covered in 24k gold, a theater and all the top end retailers make this a shopping destination of choice. Check it out!
What: Upscale Shopping Center, Americana at… Continue
A great article came out in Newsweek about two year ago now called "The New Wisdom of the Web". An old article but still very relevant information. As you can tell by this site, I'm a huge 'new media' junkie - we're living in an exciting time of change! It's a time where we want to express our individuality but where we also want to feel connected. I wanted to share a few excepts from that article:
So I'm not a classical music buff, but I would check this out for the experience... "Tchaikovsky With Fireworks."
There'll be fireworks, musical and pyrotechnical, at the Hollywood Bowl when Lang Lang making his Bowl debut, philharmonic cellist Ben Hong appears as soloist in Tan Dun's "Crouching Tiger"… Continue
Back in October last year, Sam and I had the chance to go up to SF to visit some friends and trek around the city.

Gets good around 1:16 - Santogold (or Santi White) has a really cool electronic pop sound to her music. It' a mishmash of 80s punk rock with a little Bjork-style craziness thrown in. Love how the video uses paint and… Continue

Viva Las Vegas!
The husband (Sam) and I were in Vegas this weekend for our friend's wedding. Can't say enough about how beautiful everything turned out. They got married at a very chic wedding chapel inside Mandalay Bay and then had their wedding reception at Aureole Restaurant. It's the restaurant with the "wine angels" flying down the wine tower Mission Impossible style. With over 2,700 wines to chose from, they gave us this really cool touch screen tablet to narrow down our choices. All… Continue
