Three Sisters, Glencoe, Scotland

There's something so magical about the vast, open land of Scotland. I could only imagine walking through the grassy plains, enjoying the fresh air, and the view of the mountains and castles.

The one above is called "The City" and shows cell phone calls from Washington DC before, during, and after the inauguration. The upper graphic shows the State the cell phone is registered in and the bottom graphic is a map of Washington DC showing the location the calls were made from. Luminous curated by Brian Eno at Vivid Sydney

Vivid Sydney kicked off today and one of the key events is the Luminous Music Festival. It is curated by one of my favorite artists, musician Brian Eno. He also created the installation shown above 77 Million Paintings — using about 300 of his drawings projected onto the sails of the opera house. It is shown each night from 6 p.m. to midnight. Eno envisioned a mesmerizing sight for the public to pause and enjoy. "I think what I am most… Continue

Huge 3D Wall Murals are Off the Wall - John Pugh (12 pics)

At first glance, it looks like an earthquake destroyed the walls of this building. Amazingly, it's just an optical illusion - even the woman looking inside is fake.

The paintings, which have fooled many, were created by Californian-born artist John Pugh, who specializes in trompe l'oeil or "trick of the eye" art. He works on large scale murals in public and… Continue

Movie on the Radar: Thirst - A Korean Vampire Romance Unveiled at Cannes

I'm a big fan of foreign films and South Korea has produced some gems in the last decade.

Director Park Chan-wook may have invented a new genre with "Thirst," his film about a priest turned bloodsucker who doesn't like to kill. The movie combines horror, suspense, social satire and humor in the story of a man of faith transformed into a vampire by a medical… Continue

Dreaming of Flight

This one was in response to a dream I had where I flew over a city which continued on past the horizon. I must have had the fan on that night because I could feel the wind in my face.

Information Right Now - but organized please

A lot of what I do is to find ways of taking huge amounts of information and distilling it down so that top management can understand it and act on it. I also need to employ this same process in my own life to take the vast firehose of new info appearing on the web every second and digest it down to something I can understand and use.

Did you know that every second 20 hours of new video is uploaded to… Continue
