Walking to Create a Greener Environment
Here is a cool campaign that promotes walking to create a greener environment. DDB China Group took over a busy pedestrian crossing and placed a large canvas featuring a leafless tree on the road. On either side of the crossing were sponge cushions soaked in green environmentally-friendly washable and quick dry paint. As pedestrians walked towards the crossing they…

Beautiful Branding: Ace Hotel (12 pics)
Just who is behind Ace Hotel's beautiful branding? Who makes sure that every element, from the letterhead to the message on the bathroom mirror, looks consistently cool? That would be the talented trio, Mathew Foster, Fritz Mesenbrink & Jeremy Pelley, from The Official Manufacturing Company.
If you've ever visited an Ace, you'll immediately feel that…

R.I.P. Dennis Hopper (Actor, Photographer, Artist)
So Dennis Hopper passed away today at the age of 74 due to complications from prostate cancer. Hopper was a legendary actor who had memorable roles in films like Easy Rider, Blue Velvet and Apocalypse Now. What you might not know is that he was an accomplished photographer and painter with close ties to art legends like Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Willem De Kooning, and Ed Ruscha. These are some of my favorites of Hopper's photos.…

Not Your Usual Skateboard Photography By Brian Kelley (8 Pics)
Skateboarding is an art form (not a sport) so it makes sense that great art can be made from capturing it on film and video. There are no uniforms, stadiums or rules in skateboarding and I have always thought of it as this free flowing thing like good jazz music. I think photographer Brian Kelley might view it the same way judging from his shots. At its best skating is done in the streets on obstacles whose original purpose had nothing to do with…

Seemingly Impossible Human Installations
French artist Philippe Ramette believes nothing should ever be fake. His impossible, gravity-defying poses might look like classic Photoshop, but look a little closer and you'll see evidence that it's not. "You see a tension in my hands, my red face is far from serene as the blood rushes to it, my suit is ruffled," said Ramette.
In France, Ramett's bizarre…
