The Scene-Stealing Squirrel That Inspired an Ad Campaign

Remember this squirrel? He's the precocious little dude who photobombed a Minnesota couple's picture. This summer, Melissa and Jackson Brandts were on vacation at Banff National Park in Canada, snapping photos of themselves when a silly little dude decided he needed to be in the picture.…

The Haunted Mansion - Nathan Schroder

With dark, elaborate schemes lit up by antique chandeliers and candlelight, Nathan Schroder whisks us away to a far and distant land. It's natural to feel a bit disturbed in his haunted mansion; a place that is home to wild animals that we cannot tell are real or fake, and mischievous characters that look to be straight out of murder mystery novels.

Nathan…

Let's Experience the World's Biggest Tomato Fight

Please Lord, before I die, let me be pelted with thousand of tomatoes. I'll make my way over to Spain to participate in the world famous La Tomatina festival. There, I'll get battered and bruised up, and for an intense hour or two I'll remember why tomatoes belong safely in my stomach and not splattered on my face.

Today, on August 26, 2009, more than 45,000 people from all over the world descended on the small Valencian town of Bunol, Spain to experience the world famous tomato… Continue

Modern Architecture - Party House on the Water

Could you imagine the type of parties you could throw at this house? You certainly wouldn't have to worry about being too loud or disturbing the neighbors.

Only accessible by boat or yacht, 'House on the Water' was designed by Polish architecture firm formodesign. The rental property, located by Navagio beach, Greece, is made of concrete, and supported by…

Beijing loves Ikea for the Experience

Head on over to the LA Times to read an interesting article on why people from Beijing love Ikea. Do they go there to shop for their modern day needs? Well, not quite. They go there for the experience.

Here are a few of my favorite… Continue

The New Modern Man is Dressed in Tom Ford

What does the new modern man look like and how does he dress? If I had it my way, he would dress like Jon Kortajarena, here for Tom Ford. New modern luxury looks like this. Sure the glasses are a bit geeky but the style is just right. Mix and match patterns, add texture to your suits, make it unexpected, give us a show. Be daring, be different, and most of all be…

Magnolia Tree is Soccer Field's Centerpiece! (6 pics)

Now here's a cool concept. Why not add a new "green" element to soccer matches by putting a 10-meter high magnolia tree in the center? It would add a new element to the game as players could hide behind the tree for sneak attacks.

Chilean artist Sebastian Errazuriz planted the tree in the center of Chile’s National Stadium where dictator Pinochet…

It All Starts With a Face - Aaron Ruell (8 pics)

Though most people would know Aaron Ruell as Kip from Napoleon Dynamite, few know him as an emerging photographer. His photographs draw me in because even without the interesting vintage/modern sets, each of his subject's faces tell a story. As he states, "My images usually start with either a face that I’ve seen, and then I’ll attempt to build an environment around…

Your Poodle Looks Like a... (10 photos)

Pittsburgh Steeler

It should be against the law to embarrass your pets like this, but you certainly can't say these poodle owners don't have wild imaginations. Going above and beyond the normal grooming these dogs should usually get, crazy owners transform their poodles into whole different animals and even into sport and movie stars. Here are our top ten pics courtesy of animal…

One Pixel at a Time - Chris Dorosz (13 sculptures)

San Francisco-based artist Chris Dorosz must have a mad amount of patience. You can only imagine how many tedious hours it must take to create these intricate sculptures that are made up of tiny paint drops on a grid of acrylic rods. Using this style, his installations create a wicked 3D effect.

"Out of material discovery I began to regard the primacy of the…

Amsterdam's Bike Culture

This video reminds me that I need to get off my lazy booty and get myself a bike. Really though, I like how it gives you an inside look into Amsterdam's famous bike culture. The video plays more like a Current bit than a commercial. Though it's created by bike manufacturer, Kona Bikes, it never feels like a sales pitch. It's more of a gentle reminder that people from around the world share in the cycling experience.

On a related note,… Continue

Psychedelic Dreamscapes - Allison Torneros (10 paintings)

Perhaps the most interesting thing about Allison Torneros' paintings is the thought process behind her pieces. Letting the paint do the 'talking', she throws around paint and other materials onto the canvas in an unpredictable manner and leaves it to dry overnight. Later, she begins drawing…
