With so much competition out there, job seekers need to find ways to separate themselves from the pack.
A business card is an extension of who you are. It's a great, non-verbal way to let your potential employer know that you're a creative person who thinks outside the box. And, you know what they say,… Continue
Marek Haiduk's digital art collages are defined by a mixture of shapes and vintage photos. I love the way each piece has a unique feel and avoids a set pattern.
Haiduk is an illustrator and designer from Germany, currently living and working in Vienna.…
Earlier this week, BlackBerry announced that they're joining the tablet party. Claiming to be the world's “fastest" and first "professional” tablet, the new BlackBerry PlayBook has a 7-inch LCD screen with a 1024 x 600 WSVGA display, and capacitive multi-touch control.
Disneyland's Mickey Mouse Penthouse is the ultimate "Mouse Pad." Decorated with classic Mickey Mouse imagery and three-dimensional artwork, the 1,600 sq ft penthouse includes an open living room, dining and kitchen area, two bedrooms, and two and one-half bathrooms. Photos and sketches from the Disney library are prominently displayed, featuring images of Walt and Mickey… Continue
People like Sebastian Seung inspire me. Seung is a leader in the new field of "connectomics," currently the hottest space in neuroscience, which studies, in once-impossible detail, the wiring of the brain.
In the brain, neurons are connected into a complex network. Sebastian Seung and his lab at MIT are inventing technologies for identifying and describing the "connectome," the totality of connections between the brain's neurons -- think of it as the wiring… Continue

If these old hands could speak, just what would they say? What incredible stories would they tell? In a series where we're left with more questions than answers, Alex (or Algo on Flickr) shows us just how powerful faceless photos can be. For years he took pictures of aging hands, sometimes providing a simple story to accompany the piece.
If you need a little help to get you through the day, these community service announcements by artist Jeremyville are just the ticket. They each serve as little reminders to stop and look around, to take a moment for yourself and appreciate what's around you. In this crazy and chaotic world, it's easy to get bogged down. The harder part is muddling your way through… Continue

This is an amazing set of photos by Aleksey Marina for the Omega-Print publishing house promo-calendar 2010. Each image brings you to a strange, beautiful, and elegant place.…
These fold-out business cards by Sam Buxton are insane! Three-dimensional miniature environments are folded out from a single, flat sheet of stainless steel, in a similar way to origami paper folding. Buxton discovered the idea through a chemical milling process while working in the electronics industry.
It's not often that I get taken aback by a magazine cover but this one from Vogue Italia's October 2010 issue has me in a tizzy. Shot by Steven Meisel, it features 30-year-old Italian model Mariacarla Boscono decked out in a strikingly retro outfit. She dons a three-button wool jacket with vertical ribs and embroidered silk bermudas by Giorgio… Continue

Born in Hendek, Turkey, Serkan Emiroglu is a photographer who describes his work as "intimate, introspective and quietly beautiful." He seems to encapsulate somber moods, showing us a vulnerability that's not often seen in fashion photography.
Take me home (I ♥ Tokyo cabs) is a set that Fabio Sabatini, an Economics Professor in Italy, has created that shows us that magic can be found right on our cities' streets. Taken all over Tokyo and Kyoto, Japan, including Shinjuku and Ginza, Sabatini's photos are filled with beautiful bokeh, that out of focus effect that makes us feel like we're looking into a dream.
Kislow's characters look like they escaped from a 19th century Brothers Grimm fairy tale, tacking themselves up onto 21st century walls. The Ukrainian street artist uses bright, vibrant colors, which make his three-dimensional works appear to pop out. The amount of detail found in each piece is quite impressive...…
This is one of the coolest metal business cards i have ever seen! It's like mini-installation art. If you have a business card like this it will surely make you memorable. Created by Sam Buxton.
This large scale mural by Brazilian street artist Raul Zito really struck a chord with me. Combining graffiti with photography, Zito depicts urban life and condemns unbridled consumerism. Completed in Pompéia, São Paulo, it's a stark reminder that people all over the world face hardship, especially during the global economic crisis.…
Designed by South Korean Yeongwoo Kim, the "Pouring Lamp" is a fun lighting concept perfect for those who love optical illusions. The lamp freezes "tea" as it spills in mid-air. Simply give the tea bag a tug to turn it on.…

It's a familiar tale you hear all the time. What starts out as an accident turns into something amazing. So it was for Kevin Day, a graphic designer who's created a beautiful and moving story about one dead tree.
For over five years now, Day has been photographing the same tree on different days, through different seasons and in different lighting conditions.… Continue
To mark its 90th anniversary, French Vogue is pulling out all the stops, starting with this incredibly sexy cover of model Lara Stone. Call it artistic, call it violent...just don't call it uninspired or boring. Reminiscent of something Steven Klein might do, this new editorial by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott will make you afraid of Naomi Campbell even more. Shot for the October 2010 issue of Interview magazine, it features a cold-hearted Campbell acting like she's part of the Russian mafia. Who… Continue
