For some people, photography has given them a sense of identity. For Craiova, Romania-based Felicia Simion, this could not be more true. She sees this type of art as something more than just a pastime.
“Art has made me a believer, a deceiver, a winner, a loser, a fighter, a thinker, a dreamer, a doer, a goer, and, above it all, it has made me myself,” she shares on her website.…

The stunning visuals were created with 00 grade steel wool on a string and captured on a Canon 60D with a Samyang 14mm lens. Believe it or not, there was no lighting…

In our fast-paced world, there never seems to be enough time and it feels almost impossible to break free from our surroundings. Instead, he offers each of them a serene escape through his photorealistic minimalist stylings.

Saturday Night Live or her current lead role on
Parks and Recreation, but she had another gig before these comedy shows. Poehler and three fellow comedians (Matt Besser, Ian Roberts, and Matt Walsh) founded the Upright Citizen Brigade, a sketch comedy…

It's an image that we really can't get enough of. With its large gaping mouth open, a whale shark looks like he's trying to swallow the diver whole. In reality, I'm sure that everyone survived inside this aquarium tank located in Yantai, China.

For those of us in developed countries, it's hard to imagine living in a world without basic technology. Vanessa Hollander and Wilson Philippe went on a ten-day motorcycle tour in Mongolia and brought along their Fuji Instax Mini. Many Mongolian nomads have never seen a physical photo of themselves. The sun sure is a valuable tool in photography. Lifestyle and editorial photographer Cameron Rad should know because he certainly takes advantage of the natural light in Los Angeles. Rad's brand of photography incorporates the very popular technique of light leaks to create that vintage/retro style that so many digital devices and applications try to mimic. His photography exudes a bright freshness…

Imagine walking into a silent room where a woman is mending. Now imagine that she's sitting underneath 1,500 pairs of sharp Chinese scissors that are suspended from the ceiling, precariously pointed downwards. This was the idea behind
The Mending Project by Beili Liu.
In this ambitious, large-scale installation that was shown this past spring at the Women and Their Work Gallery in Austin Texas, Liu created an atmosphere of beauty and danger.…

Scott Gundersen is a wonderful portrait drawer but as an artist, took his portraits to another level by rendering his drawings in corks. Gundersen collects the corks, then arranges them by tone and later fills in the different tones for the shading of his portraits. Gundersen starts with the lightest corks and builds up to the darkest toned ones. One of his works, entitled "Grace," is a massive 66" X 96" portrait that's made up of 9,217 corks. It took over 50 hours to…
