Fishing for Answers With Artist Kyung Soon Park

Kyung Soon Park is a Korean artist who's work carefully blends both modern and traditional art. As an Asian American, her work resonates with me because it has me thinking about my own cultural heritage - where my parents came from and the struggles they went through to give us a better life. With sweeping brush strokes, Park creates a world that reminds us that as…

New Work From Banksy's Bristol Show That You've Never Seen

With Banksy's new show opening this past weekend in Bristol, we're finally getting to see more of his new art work circle around the web. As a political activist and social commentator, Banksy rises above other artists by giving us a story behind every one of his creations. He makes us think about where our society is, has been or is going to and, hence, gives us…

Calm Down (The French Laundry, Yountville, CA)

Yes, The French Laundry does make for a memorable meal, but I don't think it's the tantric orgasm that many make it out to be. To be fair, however, I thought the meal was comparable to the one at Sona, but a pinch short of those found at…

Fallen Princesses

From JPG Magazine's photographer Dina Goldstein

"These works place Fairy Tale characters in modern day scenarios. In all of the images the Princess is placed in an environment that articulates her conflict. The '...happily ever after' is replaced with a realistic outcome and addresses current issues."

THE WEEKEND EXPERIENCE - MOVIES OPENING: 6/12/09

PICK OF THE WEEK

Moon

Critics are giving Moon great reviews, saying it is an intelligent, evocative and deceptively low-key sci-fi adventure.

It is the near future. Astronaut Sam Bell is living on the far side of the moon, completing a three-year contract with Lunar Industries to mine Earth's primary source of… Continue

Beautiful Women With Stories in Their Eyes - Bec Winnel (5 Total)

Artist Bec Winnel has an undeniable gift. She somehow manages to create depth in the beautiful women she draws. With Eyes Closed and Hearts Wide Open - Max Wanger

One of my favorite wedding photographers, Max Wanger, performs his magic again with this wedding photo shoot of Adela and Rich. What strikes me most about this set is that the couple's eyes are closed in most of the shots. It's like they're taking in each beautiful moment with their eyes closed and their hearts open. Just beautiful, I tell ya.…
