As much as I wasn't feeling the underwater images for Anthropologie's new catalog, I'm really digging the watery shots of Drew Barrymore for Elle's May 2009 issue. In the photos styled by Joe Zee, little Grey (of Grey Gardens, that is) floated like an angel, with a beautiful smile.…
In this new ad for Bontrust, a German Finance Company, stresses the importance of "tapping" into global markets. The goal was to create a world completely made out of banknotes and explicit characters. Who knew Lincoln could be so lewd!
Has a Finance company gone too far? What are your… Continue
I've fallen in love with my next favorite photographer. Much like the dreamscapes Annie Leibovitz creates, Tim Walker is one of those people who can create fairytale worlds and make them come alive. As a fashion photographer for Vogue, he's entranced readers with his romantic characters and his extravagant staging. Here he takes us on a walk through his whimsical and… Continue

Cortney and Robert Novogratz are serial renovators who find joy and happiness in turning the ordinary into extraordinary. Critics are saying that Star Trek reignites a classic franchise with action, humor, brilliant visuals, a strong story, and will please traditional Trekkies and new fans alike. Zoe Keating is a performer who (in her own words) "fuses information technology and classical music". She uses her cello and Macbook to create beautiful multi-layered melodies that sound more like a complete orchestra than one live performer. She is currently touring with Amanda Palmer and in March she appeared at ETech in San Jose (video above). Also in this video we see some cool LIDAR technology (like radar but with lasers).
How amazing is this? Designed by Dylan Roscover, a self professed design geek, this portrait of Steve Jobs is a typeface-driven design based on the "Here's to the crazy ones" ad campaign from Apple in the 90s. Roscover used only those fonts present in Apple branding and products. I just love the… Continue
There aren't many wedding pictures that make me want to get married again. That year long journey is full of headache and grief and you have so many decisions to make, you feel like your head is going to explode. But then. But then you see a photo set like this...of a couple...so happy...so sweet and in love...that it makes you want to do it all over again.
The cool couple you see here is Kelly and Chris. They rented out a modern hotel in… Continue

Dear ladies and gentlemen,
I just can't wait to get out on the road again. I grew up on the road, traveling with different musical theater companies, and since then I've been far too stationary than I wish to be...even though LA is my happy home...
I have to remember to take a deep breath before the plunge...Since our EP is coming out this June and we're finally beginning to travel afar to spread the word of jank, life could prove to be much more demanding than I expect. Be… Continue

In his own words, Kurt Halsey's work is "Shy and quiet, yet expressive and charming, my paintings use a sweetness and an innocence to tell the stories of heartache, love, sorrow, regret, confusion, and fear that each of us realistically feels in certain situations. The joy of success and the worry of failing, the humor, quirks, and frustrations of day to day interactions within relationships, and the endless yearning for a story book love are… Continue
The "Harvest Green Project" by Romses Architects was a winning entry in Vancouver's "2030 Challenge". The goal of the competition was "to address climate change plans and to guide greener and denser development, reducing carbon emissions for the future."
The concept is based on vertical farming of vegetables, herbs, fruits, fish, egg laying chickens, and…
I have friends that won't eat pork because of fear that has been espoused and spread by the media. As it turns out, the H1N1 flu virus is no more virulent or dangerous than the common flu virus. I remember that SARS and the avian flu were supposed to wipe us out. It looks like we're still here. And I still love eating bacon.
