Anyone that knows anything about Pixar, knows that they make AMAZING digital shorts. Fubiz just posted this video, "Partly Cloudy", a digital short created by Peter Sohn that plays right before the movie "UP!" (which is brilliant as well). Check it out!

Lost in Translation

I have just arrived in Tokyo this afternoon. This is my first time to the amazing city. I'm not sure what to expect, but so far it has been very nice. We had some very tasty ramen and gyoza for dinner this evening. Tomorrow I'm hoping to take a few pictures and have a decent meal or two to report on.

The Bread Art Project (6 pics)

Check out what my toaster popped out! I was about to eat it before I saw that it looked like Alice getting eaten by a giant lizard...

On the real though, everyone should check out the Bread Art Project and create some bread art for the hungry. For every approved submission, the Grain… Continue

BREAKING: iPhone 3G S Unveiled!

Apple's unveiled a new iPhone today, the iPhone 3G S -- the "s" stands for speed. Although it looks almost exactly like the 3G, it's much, much faster -- some tasks are almost four times faster. Data speeds are upped to 7.2Mbps HSDPA, and the camera is now a 3 megapixel unit with tap-to-autofocus and auto white balance -- and just as expected, it now supports 30fps…

Cool Concept: Flying Ferrari X-Racer (7 pics)

Although a little far fetched with today's current technology, designer Vincent Montreuil piques our imaginations with the flying Ferrari X-Racer. Inspired by Ferrari's Formula 1 car, the Ferrari X-Racer will scorch the skies at roaring speeds while levitating in mid-air.…

Steampunk Design

This is a computer.

I know it doesn't look like one, but that is the whole point. Steampunk is an offshoot of science-fiction / fantasy that imagines Victorian era design is still in use today. The movement has inspired some of the most creative designers found anywhere. They create computer cases and many other works of art that are truly beautiful and far outdo the bland…

What do you get when you give a brilliant artist copper wire, cotton balls, sticks and a light?

The most memorable works of art I have ever seen were created by Belgian artist Fred Eerdekens.

Could suggest something...

Copper, light source

14 x 220 x 18 cm

Neo Deo

Synthetic material, light projector

Ø 1400 x 400 cm

Nadine Grenier, a student at ESAD Strasbourg, made this kinetic installation. It is made of 500 clocksworks and every 12 hours you can read: “le temps passe, et chaque fois qu’il y a du temps passe, il y a quelque chose qui s’efface”, which roughly translates in “Time passes, and every time the time passes, there is something that… Continue

Stuck in a Fairytale - Rosie Hardy (12 photos)

In this dream-like set, UK photographer Rosie Hardy places herself in scenes that resemble a fairytale. By giving her photos a matted look, the 18-year-old makes us believe that they were taken long ago. Here are some of my favorite shots from her portfolio.

"I prefer the pavements themselves to the places they lead me to. I like to travel upside down and…
