Cool Gadget of today: The Chumby. (Hint for the moms reading, father's day is coming...)

Ok so I feel there's a lack of gadget content on the MET. So today I'm gonna present one of my favorite one (and god knows I'm a gadget freak !!): the Chumby.

What's that thing with that funky name ??

Well that's an adorable little box, super design and sexy. It's squishy all around and made of leather (different colors) and plastic. No button apparent. The only way to interfere with it is by pressing on its top (equivalent to home button on… Continue

Customizing your Laptop

I don't know about you but I hate having my laptop look just like everyone else's. However I do have to occasionally dress for success so a Hello Kitty laptop is out of the question. I was happy then to find the Skin Weaver Executive Collection.

They have a really nice set of skins that… Continue

Star Wars Russian Dolls (3 pics)

Does this mean that Darth Vader is everyone's daddy? Matt Brown created a complete set of Star Wars Russian dolls for his brother’s Christmas present.

"I bought a set of blank Matryoshka dolls online and painted them with acrylic. It took several evenings to finish, whilst watching the original trilogy. There was quite a bit of cursing here and there,…

Hi-Def Pics - Gorgeous Landscapes of Scotland (10 photos)

Three Sisters, Glencoe, Scotland

There's something so magical about the vast, open land of Scotland. I could only imagine walking through the grassy plains, enjoying the fresh air, and the view of the mountains and castles.

These gorgeous shots of Scotland come to us from UK photographer Ian Cameron. "Writing with light (photography) has been a passion of mine for about…

Data Visualization - The Obama Inauguration

The MIT SENSEable City Lab has created some very interesting visualizations of mobile phone call activity around the inauguration of President Obama. The one above is called "The City" and shows cell phone calls from Washington DC before, during, and after the inauguration. The upper graphic shows the State the cell phone is registered in and the bottom graphic is a map of Washington DC showing the location the calls were made from. Height above the map represents the… Continue

Luminous curated by Brian Eno at Vivid Sydney

Vivid Sydney kicked off today and one of the key events is the Luminous Music Festival. It is curated by one of my favorite artists, musician Brian Eno. He also created the installation shown above 77 Million Paintings — using about 300 of his drawings projected onto the sails of the opera house. It is shown each night from 6 p.m. to midnight. Eno envisioned a mesmerizing sight for the public to pause and enjoy. "I think what I am most…

Huge 3D Wall Murals are Off the Wall - John Pugh (12 pics)

At first glance, it looks like an earthquake destroyed the walls of this building. Amazingly, it's just an optical illusion - even the woman looking inside is fake.

The paintings, which have fooled many, were created by Californian-born artist John Pugh, who specializes in trompe l'oeil or "trick of the eye" art. He works on large scale murals in public and…
