Liliana Porter

I find this Buenos Aires artist quite refreshing. This painting is named "Correction". I just love her simplicity and sense of humor. She also has interesting videos and instalations.

Superheroes Caught in the Act

Ever wonder what Superheroes do when they're not saving everyday citizens? They just want to be ordinary sometimes! Toronto based photographer Ian Pool gives us a peak at Superheroes when they think we're not looking.

Carpet of 700,000 Flowers: Brussels, Belgium (3 pics)

Every other year, since 1971, the Grand Place courtyard turns into a Carpet of Flowers to promote the lovely begonia. Chosen above all for its qualities of robustness, resistance to bad weather and strong sunshine, the begonia guarantees the long life and freshness of the carpet. It also provides a rich range of colors - from vivid colors to delicate pastel shades, with in between, the parti-colored and white flowers which reflect the light so…

US Cellular ad using Crayon sculptures by Diem Chau

This is a nicely done ad for U.S. Cellular that uses the crayon sculptures of Diem Chau. They melted the mini sculptures into pools of colored wax and then ran the video backwards for a nice effect. I love it when advertisers use modern art skillfully in a… Continue

Top of the Summer to You: Kate Moss for Topshop (Summer 2009 Collection)

The "affordable and chic" British retailer Topshop has unveiled its summer Kate Moss for Topshop collection, which hits stores tomorrow.

This is actually the supermodel’s 10th collection for Topshop, featuring styles inspired by Morocco, Pocahontas and um, Kate's "own summer holiday styles." Although the price point is not out of reach, but let's be real here. I doubt we'll be seeing the old girl in the threads on her real vacation.

Topnotes include… Continue

Hello Kitty Beer

What can I say? Marketing gimmicks never cease to amaze me. Here's a quote from the Hello Kitty Hell website where I found this:

"I can already imagine what’s going to happen. As I thoroughly enjoy myself as I watch sports on Sunday afternoon, I’ll make the fatal mistake of asking my wife if she can get me a beer from the fridge. The next thing I’ll know there will be an ice-cold Hello Kitty beer… Continue

The next killer app for your phone: Mobile Augmented Reality

Mobile Augmented Reality is the name given to a technology being worked on by several groups to bridge the gap betweeen information available online and what you see around you. Imagine turning on your smartphone's camera, pointing it at a building near you, and the phone would tell you something about that building. That's exactly what is happening in the video above.

This app is available right now for phones running Google's Android operating system. It is… Continue
