Let's say you're on a multihour layover in Los Angeles, at LAX. You don't belong to a special "members" only group that will get you into a swanky lounge where the peanuts are plenty and the Coke's are flowin'. So what do you do? You wait around, like thousands of others, contorting your body in an airport chair or trying to not look as silly as Joe Blow camping out… Continue

"Some people claim that a good portrait will reveal some truth about a model. I'm undoubtedly sad to state that these people will not find anything interesting in my photography, which has no such purpose." - Polish quantum physicist and photographer, Andrzej Dragan.
Anvil! The Story of Anvil
This weekend's movie pick is pure Rock n' Roll! Critics say that Anvil! The Story of Anvil is a touching, uplifting and inspirational rockumentary about an aging metal band, both hilarious and heart-warming in equal measure. At 14, Toronto school friends Steve "Lips" Kudlow and Robb… Continue

Although it didn't win the international competition to design Lebanon’s new "House Of Arts And Culture" in Beirut, this structure by Copenhagen-based JAJA Architects is quite stunning. The "Culture Bazaar" is a project that aims to dissolve the boundaries between interior and exterior, thus creating a space for open exchange of art, culture and ideas.
There's a few reasons why I like this new commercial by Gatorade titled "Tiger's Woods of Wisdom." First, it's the Disney/Jungle Book old school cartoon feel that take me back to a simpler time. Love how the bear is suppose to be like Tiger Wood's dad but is it me or does he (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson) sound slightly pimpish with that 70's style music playing in the background? Finally, love how Tiger balances the golf ball on his club (like… Continue

These awesome art pieces are a true tribute to those old school TV shows that we all grew up on and loved. They're all part of a group show called "Idiot Box" thrown by Gallery 1988. Collected here are some of my favorites from the exhibit that are sure to bring back some good memories.… Continue

Photographer Jean-Francois Campos rides the fine line between illustration and photography in this set he's created for Dior. What I like best is that you can barely make out that this is a cosmetic's campaign. The glamorous silhouettes and the beautiful poses make this a classy and elegant set. It's vintage modern at its best.…
You know I'm a huge fan of wall art and when you combine it with monsters it can only be described as magic! Artist Jan Willem Wennekes has put up some amazing work on his Behance page. These look more like painted pieces than vinyl stickers but we're crossing our fingers that these become vinyl stickers real soon!…
Today I thought I'd put together a nice compilation of my favorite Alice in Wonderland inspired items. From furniture and lamps to jewelry and cakes, one look at this set and you'll agree that this 1865 story still lives on in modern times.

Three Angels Trying to Escape Their Drawing (Detail)
Eugene first introduced me to Peter Callesen's work back in November of last year. Callesen's ability to create a story with simple sheets of paper inspires me to find art in everyday things. These large cut papercut installations are particularly amazing because they explore… Continue
Papershapers, curated by Giant Robot opens on April 11 at Scion’s 4,500 square foot Installation L.A. Gallery Space in Culver City. Papershapers is a group show featuring ten artists who work with paper-not "on paper." The exhibition will feature works that are cut, torn, folded, and sewn into unique creations. Shin Tanaka will be making a rare U.S. appearance at the opening and will be on hand to show original pieces and fold paper with attendees!
These photos read like tragic love stories. Created by Shaun, an interactive designer from Portland, they remind us of experiences we cannot forget. They conjure up bittersweet memories of love and regret, of a lingering pain that never goes away.…

Sometimes you come across an environment that really lets the merchandise or content (such as people, merchandise or furnishings) stand out. This 2,000 square-meter jewelry-case — the head office of the venerable fashion house Escada in Munich, Germany — is a luxurious example of this.
Completed in late 2008, the location hosts the international fashion media and buyers who gather here to view the latest… Continue
Love this photo shoot by fashion photographer Dusan Reljin with model Daria Werbowy. Playful and sexy, Dusan brings out the seductive side of Daria. The nude tights, the black stripes, the bed head hair...it all works together perfectly.
