If I had to put my money on it, I would bet that this video fetures the most brilliant invention you will see today...
Tan Le's astonishing new computer interface reads its user's brainwaves, making it possible to control virtual objects, and even physical electronics, with mere thoughts (and a little concentration). She demos the headset, and talks about its far-reaching… Continue

Over the last year, we've seen quite a few great time lapse videos shot in Japan. Here's another great one by Brad Kremer. The title of the piece is "Hayaku," which translates to "Hurry Up" in English.
"Japan is one of the most beautiful countries in the world," says Kremer. "This is my Japan. This is one of the many reasons why I love Japan. I shot this in many locations around Japan in the summer of 2009. Some of the location include Tokyo, Matsuyama,… Continue
What could be more frightening for a kid than seeing his favorite mascot decapitated and wearing a human head? This disturbing set, titled Down in the Woods Today, is the creation of London-based photographer Alan Powdrill. I like how he placed the people in fake animal costumes in the middle of the forest, making the whole scene appear completely… Continue
Today is observed as Memorial Day in the United States, a day for remembering the men and women of our armed services who died while at war. Collected here are a handful of photographs for remembrance, acknowledging some of the men and women who have passed in… Continue
These awesome art pieces are a true tribute to those old school TV shows that we all grew up on and loved. They're all part of a group show called "Idiot Box" thrown by Gallery 1988. Collected here are some of my favorites from the exhibit that are sure to bring back some good memories.

The Problem
By the year 2050, nearly 80% of the earth's population will reside in urban centers. Applying the most conservative estimates to current demographic trends, the human population will increase by… Continue
Looking for a sweet spot to kick back and watch your favorite team crush their opponents? The Parlor is a really classy sports bar on the Westside. I like it because of its modern decor and sleek feel. The bar has two floors and both are littered with plasma TVs. I would recommend going during happy hour, which is from 4pm-8pm. During that time, sliders are $1.50… Continue
As some of you know, my girlfriend is studying to become a dietician and every so often the subject of "veganism" comes up. After seeing that Shojin, a Japanese vegan restuarant in Downtown received 4.5 stars on Yelp, I decided to give the whole vegan thing a shot.
Annie ordered assorted grilled vegetables and tempeh with original sweet barbeque sauce.… Continue
Wacko is the highest rated place to shop in Los Angeles on Yelp. It's received a 5-star rating from 162 out of 203 yelpers.
Wacko is a pretty large store that contains all types of "crap". Thing is, one man's trash is another person's treasure. Wacko sells items like scented oils, comic books, pop surrealist art books, posters, kid robot toys, and all types other off-the-wall stuff.…
I had pretty high expectations when I saw that Ronin Izakaya Bistro in West Hollywood received a 4.5 (out of 5) rating on yelp. The place is pretty small, can fit about 50-60 people max and is decked out with samurai swords and old-school Japanese movies projected on the walls.…
According to the Pixar Blog: "These wonderful never before seen (by the non-Comic-Con-attending public) images of Carl and Russell from Up, as well Carl's house surrounded by development and the hand-drawn concept art, have been uploaded to Flickr. They're actually photographs of five of the still images that were shown at Comic-Con in San Diego"…
As Annie and I were driving around to look for a place to eat in Downtown Vancouver a few months ago, we spotted this hotdog cart with a huge line. The sign on the cart said "Japadog". Could these Japadogs put the infamous LA bacon-wrapped we know and love to shame? And so the love affair began.
The Menu: The Terimayo ($4.25) is the most popular. An all-beef dog, grilled and topped with nori… Continue
Chaya Venice is an upscale Asian fusion restaurant with high quality food. Their happy hour is daily between 5pm-7pm and on Sunday from 5pm-10pm. I would recommend trying the fried calamari, spicy tuna tartar, albacore sashimi salad, and the spicy tuna roll. For the price, this happy hour is definitely worth checking out.
Happy Hour Menu - Everything is $4-$5
Scallop Dynamite
Vegetable Roll
Spicy Shrimp… Continue
A blind five-year-old pianist from South Korea has stunned the music world after a video of her performance received more than 27million hits. Yoo Ye-eun, who was born blind and adopted in 2002, has never had a formal piano lesson but can play any song after just one… Continue
