If I lived in the Australian Outback, I'd want to live in a house like this. Designed by Melbourne-based architectural practice BKK, the Corinella House is a 220 acre sheep farm that sits on a peninsula in Victoria, Australia’s Weternport Bay. The home overlooks mangrove trees and sand flats, and provides residents with beautiful views of the ocean.
The four bedroom, three bathroom…

This isn't your typical beach house. Hanging off a cliff and overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Lefevre House by Longhi Architects is, in fact, more like a gorgeous hideaway or a majestic "place where desert and ocean meet.“
Located in Punta Misterio, Peru (75 miles south of Lima), the Lefevre House features sand garden roofs which act as an extension of the…

Photographer Thomas Prior takes us inside the mayhem and chaos at St. Maarten's Maho Beach. With an international airport situated immediately adjacent to it, Maho Beach is the perfect place to watch low-flying aircraft on their final approach. That is, if you're more interested in plane spotting than tanning. Lucky for us, daily arrivals and departures times are…

How sexy are these stunning black and white shots by photographer Russell James?
James flew to one of the most exotic places in the world, the beautiful Italian island of Sardinia, to capture this steamy set for Victoria Secret's book titled Sexy.
Born in Perth, Western Australia, Russell James is currently one of the world's leading photographers. Over the past decade, his images have become synonymous with…

Yowza!! No, this isn't a strip club. Upper Manhattan Martini Lounge is a surprisingly fresh, upscale lounge on the Westside. It caters to a more mature crowd and every Friday and Saturday they host cabaret shows from 9pm-11pm. I really like the decor of the place, the modern looking bar, and how the entire place changes colors at times. The cabaret girls have some…

On our quest to find the best HOTspots for you guys, Annie and I decided to venture out to the Westside. Side Door is a small, intimate bar with a sophisticated look and mellow vibe. The lighting, seating, and decor all seem to compliment each other. Cocktails are LA typical at $12, but Annie and I thought they were pretty stiff. Thanks…

Manhattan Beach's 36th Annual Hometown Fair will take place this year on October 4th and 5th. The goal of the community fair is to create a weekend event where locals can support each other as customers and operators of fun booths while raising funds for local charity organizations. Manhattan Beach may not get as much publicity as its neighbor beaches but that's…

Planning on going to the beach this weekend? The 75th Annual Great Sand Sculpting Contest breaks ground in Long Beach on August 9th. General viewing will be from 2pm-4pm.
"Sand sculpting is more than just building sandcastles," said Karch, who also has built sand sculptures of Queen Amidala's Palace from "Star Wars Episode I" and a giant sand replica of Shrek. "People really don't do castles anymore. They do dinosaurs. A castle is a castle…

After a day of kayaking at Sunset Beach, Annie and I decided to try this Mediterranean restaurant after seeing it received four stars on yelp with over 250 reviews. Open Sesame is on East 2nd street, a street littered with little boutique stores, restaurants and bars - a fun street to walk around. Once seated, we ordered a couple Lebanese beers. It was little sharp but not bad. For our meals I ordered the Open Sesame combo plate that consisted of…

The grand re-opening of Sharkeez tomorrow night may be the perfect excuse to visit beautiful Hermosa Beach. A fun place if you're looking for a "young, high energy, beach dive bar" scene, it burned to the ground in 2006 and to the delight of beach bums and locals, it's back! I assume that it's going to get pretty busy tomorrow night at the opening, but the nice thing about Hermosa is that there are many other options along the pier. If you've never…

The Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden at Cal State Long Beach is the perfect place to go when you're stressed out and need a serene environment. The garden includes a rock garden, tea house, bonsai collection, small waterfalls and a spectacular koi pond.
The koi pond is the most impressive I've ever been to. The fish are huge, brightly colored and plentiful. You can buy a handful of fish pellets for a quarter and massive amounts of fish…
