Going on now, at the MOCA Pacific Design Center, is an exhibition of work from the fashion and custom designers behind Rodarte. More than 20 pieces from Rodarte's Spring 2010, Fall 2010 and Fall 2008 runway collections are on display along with original ballet costumes worn by Natalie Portman for the critically acclaimed movie Black Swan. “We worked and are friends with Natalie; she has… Continue

The Dramatic Black Calendar (12 photos)

Slightly surreal and even a little spooky, this calendar is for those that feel like a cloud is always hovering over their heads. It should come as no surprise that photographer Tejal Patni was inspired by Tim Burton's dramatic films. Called Splash, the fashion calendar has the color "black" as its theme. "I approached all seasons as if I was writing a script for 12 different feature… Continue

Seductive Black and White Photography (25 total)

Los Angeles based photographer Tasya Van Ree infuses her incredible black and white photos with romanticism, darkness, and intimacy. As she explains, "There is this undying interest with the traditional seduction of black and white film. Wayne Levin - Stories Of The Sea In Black and White

The picture above looks like the brave young man has fallen down from inferno straight through a fiery bellowing cloud. He's actually swimming in the sea, going underneath a rolling wave. These photographs have a vintage look to them. They make me feel somewhat nostalgic about something I've never even done before...like free diving for example.

While most would choose colour photographs to document the underwater world, not surprising…

Modern Architecture - Japanese Firm's Sexy Black House

Check out this sleek, sexy house designed by Japanese firm FORM / Kouichi Kimura Architects. With a black exterior and white courtyard, it's no surprise that the interior is full of contrast with both light and dark rooms. Although the house doesn't look too big in size, I like how they set up the space to make it look spacious and clean.

I'm really…
