The Art of Meticulous Disassembly

Artist Todd McLellan has more patience than all of us combined. Meticulously taking apart classic objects such as a typewriter or flip clock, he breaks them down piece by piece and separates them into groups. After he places all the pieces onto a white background with all the parts laid out together, he produces exquisitely detailed images that display the inner mechanics behind the…

World's Chillest Alien Just Lounging Around

Artist David Herbert created this very unique sculpture he called "Monarch" which resembles the alien from the Alien film series directed by Ridley Scott. Sitting quite casually on the side of the road (above), this relaxed creature is seen with a near perfect monarch butterfly which sits on its hand. The large sculpture is 8 ft tall and made of chicken wire, spray foam, plaster, chrome…

Today, it is with great pleasure that I bring you a Met Exclusive - a rare, one-on-one interview with photographer Rodney Smith. Smith isn't your typical photographer. Though he graduated from the University of Virginia, he earned a Masters in Theology from Yale and later taught at that prestigious university. He's worked with editorial and corporate clients that include New… Continue

Interview: Brian Parillo - L.A. Architecture

Ever since I laid eyes on Brian Parillo's black and white shots, I've never thought of L.A. architecture quite the same. Capturing shots at incredibly abstract angles, he conveys a powerful sense of drama through his carefully-crafted cinematic approach. I recently got in contact with Brian and had… Continue

Interview with Artist, Stella Im Hultberg (12 pieces)

Lucky for us, Seoul, South Korea-born artist Stella Im Hultberg serendipitously fell into the art world. After studying Industrial Design at Cal State, she worked as a product designer but felt that the "computerization of everything and mass production made the process less hands on."

Always knowing that she wanted to do something creative, she turned to… Continue

Violent Naomi Campbell in Interview Magazine (5 photos)

Call it artistic, call it violent...just don't call it uninspired or boring. Reminiscent of something Steven Klein might do, this new editorial by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott will make you afraid of Naomi Campbell even more. Shot for the October 2010 issue of Interview magazine, it features a cold-hearted Campbell acting like she's part of the Russian mafia. Who… Continue
