Innovative copywriting and ad execution...from AARP?!?!

I work in advertising and marketing so great copywriting always catches my eye. Here's a campaign from AARP that is edgy and surprising. Not just because of what they do, but who did it. You have to watch the whole thing to get the genius, but I think it's worth it (and it's only two… Continue

A Beautifully Designed Map of Manhattan - Jim Datz

Love this poster of Mahattan (titled 'Man Hat Tan') that was a collaboration between Three Potato Four and designer Jim Datz. It combines several of their loves (and ours) - New York City, typography, color, 50's inspired illustrations, and urban signage.

The first edition quickly sold out (in a week and a half) but… Continue

A Modern, Green, Underground Family Fun House (8 Photos)

British architect Alex Michaelis created an modern, eco-friendly home for him, his wife and his three kids in London. The subterranean fun house was made with his kids in mind; it has everything from a slide to an indoor pool and rock climbing wall. If that's not enough, they also have a foosball table and giant bean bags.

"Everyone in the family was involved… Continue

Philips’ Carousel: A Mind-blowing Cinematic Experience

Philips :: Carousel campaign (Adam Berg + Stink Digital) from Designloops on Vimeo. Wow! I haven't been this "blown away" by a short film in a long time. When Philips wanted to promote their new Cinema 21:9 LCD TV, they called upon film and design development company Stink Digital to create something completely out of the box. They wanted people who watched it… Continue

From Abandoned Farm House to Life Size Dollhouse

This is an older story but one that I wanted to share. Back in June 2007, Saskatchewan artist Heather Benning transformed an abandoned farmhouse in southwestern Manitoba into a giant dollhouse. She replaced the north-facing wall with Plexiglas, showcasing its interior and then fully restored the house with candy-colored walls and furniture from the 1960s, when the home was abandoned.
