Mixed Media Collages by Marek Haiduk (7 total)

Marek Haiduk's digital art collages are defined by a mixture of shapes and vintage photos. I love the way each piece has a unique feel and avoids a set pattern.

Haiduk is an illustrator and designer from Germany, currently living and working in Vienna.…

Marionettes & Manners by Riaan van Zyl

Come and be part of a living exhibition.

In the creative spirit of Cape Town Creative Week, leading up to the Loerie Awards, Riaan van Zyl with Cape to Cuba (Long Street) has created a work of art that needs people to complete it.

The artwork titled "Marionettes & Manners" is centered around a special reserved table where guests can take on the role of a marionette and step into the artist's world.

Vitamin Water Connect: A New Facebook Flavor

Now if this isn't a sign of the times I don't know what is! When Vitamin Water asked Facebook users to create a new flavor, could we have guessed that it would be called Connect? A black cherry-lime flavor drink made with caffeine and 8 key nutrients, Connect is the brainchild of Facebook user Sarah from Illinois. She's awarded the nice handsome sum of $5K for her… Continue

Estee Lauder is Giving Free Social Media Make-overs

Wow, now this is an interesting way to get into social media. Estee Lauder, that make-up brand that your mom used to wear, is giving free make-overs and photo shoots so that you can have a prettier profile pic. Why? The brand is feeling a bit old and they want to feel more hip and modern. But what's the catch? The profile photos will include the Estee Lauder logo in… Continue

My Modern Media: Video Mapping Projection

How I would have loved to seen this live! The Dark Room TV, a boutique motion graphics studio, was invited to do some video mapping projections at a secret festival in the North East of England. The theme and logo of the party was the heart. After spending a couple of weeks in the studio, they opened the party with this amazing show. My favorite part? Pac-Man, of course! (See 3:47)

Not sure if I like their style or… Continue

Social Media Addicts Association Meeting

Pretty funny video on social media addiction. Best part? A subtle joke you'll get if you're one of the gajillion people on Facebook (it's around 1:06). "Matt, stop writing on the wall!" This video is an advertising campaign by Sony for their Vaio line of… Continue

Geektastic! Fun Social Media Pillows

Is it really bad that I'm eyeing these geektastic pillows? I mean, who doesn't think the Reddit guy isn't cute? At the very least you can get the Facebook one for your friend who's on that site 24/7.

I'm like totally "Digg"ing these. (Sorry, really bad joke.)…

KGB-licious? Louis Vuitton Ad featuring Mikhail Gorbachev

An intriguing Louis Vuitton print ad has appeared in the back of New York and other magazines, featuring a pensive Mikhail Gorbachev being driven in a limo past the remains of the Berlin Wall, his only companion a trusty piece of LV luggage with some reading material sticking out.

What's causing controversy is the Russian text on his Louis Vuitton bag's content, strategically posed so that the… Continue

My Promise

You have a lot of choices out there with social network sites. So first, I want to thank everyone in here for trusting in me, my brother or a friend, for joining the site without even seeing it.

I had lunch with my friend, Todd, a few weeks ago and we talked about social media. Never has there been a time like now, when information and ideas are being exchanged, in a blink of an eye. For some, that's scary - it's an unknown. But, for… Continue
