Music: Charlotte Sometimes

Every once in a while, I'll catch a music video on VH1 that will stop me in my tracks. This morning, I watched Charlotte Sometimes' video "How I Could Just Kill a Man" and not only did I really like her artistic video, I have since downloaded the song and have been listening to it over and over again. Her website… Continue

Morgan Page @ Elevate June 15th, Sun 8pm

I had the great pleasure of meeting Morgan Page at Winter Music Conference this past year. Not only is he a terrific DJ, he's also a very nice person. (Always good to hear stories like that, isn't it?)

Here's a pic Sam took of him at the Nikki Beach party:

It makes me excited to tell everyone that he'll be playing at Ruby Skye… Continue

KCRW - For Music

I'm always looking for new and interesting music. KCRW - the national public radio station in Santa Monica has a very cool segment called Guest DJ Project. They let cultural and pop icons share and discuss songs that have inspired or moved them. I tried listening to most of them - best ones for me were Conan O'Brien and Jason Reitman's segments (Jason is director of Juno.)… Continue

Sunset Strip Music Festival - June 26-28th

I'm not a huge Sunset Strip fan....the parking and traffic there is always a nightmare. There must be a need to revive the area...hence the first annual Sunset Strip Music Festival...rockers may enjoy - all performances at the Roxy, Whisky A-Go-Go, House of Blues, Viper Room, Key Club and The Cat Club.

Larry King is hosting an "icon rountable" discussion, which might be interesting.

Ne-Yo and Chris Brown - The Performers

Like many of you, I remember MTV when they actually showed music videos. So that's probably why I still love watching them. Music videos and concerts enhance your connection to a song. Maybe it's the way the words come alive or maybe I just love seeing their fancy foot work. :)

Here are a few links to their newest music videos:

Santogold - Breaking Down Barriers

Gets good around 1:16 - Santogold (or Santi White) has a really cool electronic pop sound to her music. It' a mishmash of 80s punk rock with a little Bjork-style craziness thrown in. Love how the video uses paint and… Continue

Las Vegas! - Chic Restaurants and Pool Parties!?

Viva Las Vegas!

The husband (Sam) and I were in Vegas this weekend for our friend's wedding. Can't say enough about how beautiful everything turned out. They got married at a very chic wedding chapel inside Mandalay Bay and then had their wedding reception at Aureole Restaurant. It's the restaurant with the "wine angels" flying down the wine tower Mission Impossible style. With over 2,700 wines to chose from, they gave us this really cool touch screen tablet to narrow down our choices. All… Continue
